Can someone with molding skills make custom Fiberglassed Door Inserts? adamj5 was making them but he backed out because he presently doesnt have enough spare time to work on them. He even asked for anyone with fabrication skills to step up to the plate and take a swing at this. Has anyone taken his challenge? Ive seen some of you guys with molding skill make some AWESOME custom projects. So Im sure that this shouldnt be hard to make. A lot of people were interested in both NC and EverythingCelica. Im more than sure that it will be no problem to make some profit from these. I really want these Fiberglass Door Panel Inserts because I messed up my leather inserts. Actually, I really need these because every time I look at door panel I feel like shooting myself for messing them up. Anyone that is planning to make these please let me know.

i'd do it but i'd don't wanna risk ruinin my door for the mold

That would be GREAT if we could get someone that is willing to do both because Ive seen many people interested in Carbon Fiber. However, I wouldnt mind seeing what you and celica2kgt could come up with.

adamj5 have already taleked couple days ago and i'm already in the works on it should have something more solid by mid week! hopefully if not then i'll attack it from a different angle!

i just emailed a place near me that does custom carbon iber stuff asking about a quote if i can get a rough estimate of how many people would want them it would be great
as with everything more peole mean cheaper prices

You should start your own interest thread in the group buys forum and include the different prices for various interest, i.e. 1-5 people = $X, 6-10 people = $Y, and so on.

You know you could definitely count on me. But are these goings to be made out of Fiberglass and then wrapped in Carbon Fiber? Because Im not sure if Im trying to go with the Carbon Fiber look for my interior.

The shop that I work for we make custom pieces like that Ill run it by my boss and see what he thinks. Do you want it in Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass or both? Let me know and Ill let him know tomorrow. What does everyone thing a resonable price is for a set of carbon fiber and un-painted Fiberglass? Gimme some answers quick cause Im telling my boss about this tomorrow morning.

adamj5 gave us a $40 - $60 price range for unpainted Fiberglass ones without shipping but not sure how much it would cost for a painted ones or in that case Carbon Fiber ones. Not sure about anyone else but I would be willing to pay a little more if the quality is GOOD. Also, would you be painting them for us? However, let us know what your boss says because I really need this ASAP.

ok I talked to my boss today and he said we can do it but we need at least 10 people willing to put down at least a $50.00 dollar deposit on a pair. He said that they would run 300.00 for unpainted Fiberglass and 500.00 for finished carbon fiber(those prices are for a set and most likely shipped). The price is so high right now because the cost of materials and man hours is going to be high and we have to make a profit.He said it will take about 2 weeks to get a really good mold that we can make final products from. He's right here... tell you what, i'll prototype a pair if i can get enough people to put deposits (like, $20 each) so that i can afford a pair from adamj5 to mold. I don't want to mold my doors, becuase i just got done dying them, and putting new inserts in them... and, i just don't want to redo all of that work (i hope you all understand). Let me know people!

Well what is a resonable price these are just numbers he threw at me without even looking at what were making someone give me a price limit you would pay for each kind of material and Ill talk to him again.

Im down for the $20 deposit but I dont think that adamj5 made any others to sell. However, we could all put in money to buy used door panels from a junkyard or from ebay.com. I found this on ebay, I wonder if this guy still has the door panels.

There are 2 members from New Celica Brian00GTS & LilRocketSpyder that are completely parting with everything because their Celicas have been totaled. I asked them both about the door panels, still waiting for reply.

for 10 people $125.00 shipped

for 20 people $110 shipped

those prices are for a set of two inserts, primed.

I will off them painted red or black (your preference) for an extra $20 per set.

Let me know if those prices sound reasonable to you.
