Does carbon fiber parts only come lin black. I seen carbon fiber dashes and hoods and there always in black. Do Carbon Fiber trunks come in black to cause thats look wack on a celica i guess

Yeah...you can get them in different colors. I just saw an "orange" Carbon Fiber hood the other day. Crazy.

Yeah! There are all kinds of colors out there. http://www.edashkit.com/COLORSAMP.html There are a few of them there. Another popular thing to do is for example if you buy a carbon fiber hood; is to paint it with a really thin layer of a slightly transparent paint. The effect is awesome! I've seen people do that with red and blue. If you look at it from the side, it looks like it has more color than carbon fiber, and if you look at it directly, you seen more carbon fiber than color!

True,you put a thin layer of paint to match what you want and still get the Carbon Fiber look.

arent the colored Carbon Fiber hoods actually Carbon Fiber with kevlar weaved into it?

Yea...technically it's not a "full" Carbon Fiber hood because what makes the color in Carbon Fiber is the kevlar...usually...

I've actually never heard of anyone puttin a thin layer of paint on Carbon Fiber...maybe it's just me

I've seen a candy opaque layer of paint on a c/f hood. looks good. I ordered a black/silver kevlar hood for my car, should be in in about two weeks, can't wait to get it on.

So basically, yes you can paint it with a opaque paint and yes you can get different colors (with kevlar)

Hmmm, yall got me thinking. I know you can take normal fiberglass weave and add graphite and basically make it look like carbon, so i am wondering if you added some kind of color pigment to the resin and then laid it up on carbon fiber if it would produce a similar effect. ANyone know any types of pigment that are completely stable. I guess i could just use gell coat color or something. Anyone else ever experiment with this kind of stuff?????

VIS makes a rear hatch for the RSX and i think they were going to make one for the celi if there was enough interest... youd run into problems with the weight of the rear glass though, so i dont know if its going to go through. do a search on ncDOTorg, there was a thread about it not too long ago.
