Yeah I am saying it. While the 3s-gte is awesome and all, it needs to go away. I mean think about it, its been out for how long and while it has had improvements made to it doesn't anyone else think its time for something new from toyota. Lets look at other past sports car engines. 7m-gte was around for only 7 years and in that time it was outdone by the 1jz-gte which only lasted like 3-4 years before both disappeared in favor of the 2jz which lasted for what almost 10 years. SOOOOOOO... where is the new Hotness. Dont get me wrong cause I love the celi but the 2zz is not it. They had better step up to the plate soon with a 300 hp hybrid or something else turboed cause I (and being "I" I am quite important) am getting impatient.
As long as an engines good...I dont see why it should be dropped. The B series engines of honda have been out for along time...and still get a lot of use. The 3s-GTE is a great engine, that has great potential. I agree though, I think they should make a new engine but keep the 3s. As I said earlier in another post, they should make a new generation VVTL-i engine. Imagine 250 - 300hp stock WITH lift.

I agree...Don't drop something that works, and has worked for a LONG TIME
oh yeah that would be the best man shit i was thinking about that early today wile i was at work yet again they dont fuckin pay me enough to even start thinkin about swaping it sigh oh well that would be so fuckin nice
Yes adding lift would make it an entirely different engine. And that would work. It just seems to me lots of other carmakers have hot new stuff while toyota fans are still hanging on the mid and early 90's.
the next big engine is DEFINITELY going to involve hybrid technology. i think mitsubishi is already doing it. i think that when it gets perfected we are going to see some much much better performing engines.
