I am torn, dont know what to do.
On one hand I could get Nitrous system.

On the other I could get 2.0L upgrade.

The nitrous I know what I will get

The 2.0L upgrade nothing.

But here are my thoughts, I can go displacement upgrade and in the process strengthen my engine,(ofcourse I would also get the stronger valves) so that later if I did nitrous I would have an engine that could handle it.

The only problem is that I don't know anything about what kind of hp gains can be had from moving displacement to 2.0L.

I need some input.

I think it's about the same as Trials 2.0l kit. They claim 220 hp with 105 japanese octane. So you might get a 15-20 gain on 91 octane. I'm not 100% possitive, but it should add a good chunk of hp.

Some of the mechanics at work say there should be about 18% gain.
If that is true I would be pushin 250 hp and that would be worth it.

I dunno about 250hp 'cuz Trial is a realiable tuner & they claim 220 with 105 octane. But it would still be worth it 'cuz you plan to improve the internals.

Well with the mods I currently have an additional 18% would bring me there.

See trial claims a 22.5% increase that would be cool.
That would bring me close to 250hp.

After the kit you get about 220 hp and 20 kg of torque. on Japanese high octane gas (105).
The Engine will hold up to 8,000 RPM. The valves are thought to be the weak point of this engine.
The stock valves are generally ok up to 7,000 rpm, but if you plan on going over that,
a valve kit is recommended. The valves used on the Trial Shop Car are $2434.95.
Stock valve springs are fine.

Thats some sketchy engine math. Its like adding up Hp from each seperate bolt on and getting a final number. 10 Hp from intake + 10 hp from exhaust+ 10hp from headers does not necessairly mean you get 30 more hp. All that stuff works together and some may cancel each other out while others get even better gains. Usually however its the former. So this means that just because the trial got 220 which is 22.5% more than stock it does not mean you will necessairly see a 22.5 increase in yours. Also that would mean you have like 210 right now. Which you very well mght have but unless you dyno you never really know where you are.

Does the trial kit increase the bore or just the stroke. I wonder what the increased piston speed of a stroker kit would do to long term reliability of the engine?

I think its just the stroke which also increases compression I think?
