ok, i understand that i need to bleed the brakes! now you guys say that i need to bleed the brakes nicely. Wut do you mean by that! can i just loosen the bolt that the brake line is attached to and completely drain the brake fluid out and after that can i just fill up the brake fluid reservoir in the engine bay, or is it more complicated than that? will i have to loosen all bolts meaning where ever the brake line is attached to the caliper? so if someone could expalin this or clarify this then i can try to bleed my brakes. i just went around to different places in my dad's car and they all gave me estimates of $30 just to look at it and then what ever work it will need, obviously that will be extra. so guys, you have been so helpful so far, just clarify this bleeding procedure and hopefully that should be it. thnx!

my first thought was that you needed to break your rotors in, but then i realized you got pad's spineyes
so you probably still have some air in your lines, just bleed them again and see if that works.

Yep sounds like you opened the bleeder valve to compress the piston and prolly left it open and the piston retracted therefore you got a shitload of air in there hopefully it didn't get into to the master cylinder.

The proper way to bleed brakes.

Have someone in the car pump the brake pedal three times and hold it down on the third pump.

Open the bleeder valve and let it purge the air (Do not let the brake pedal up before tighten up the bleeder valve!)

Repeat this as many times as neccasary and remember to keep the resevoir full!

Good luck.

I think now that the $100 I spent having a shop install my 4 rotors and pads was worthwhile...

So how about some knowledgeable person write up a brake bleeding how to and post it in the installs section. It would be quite helpful as it is usually necessary installing braided brake lines and such.
Please? Ill beg...

ok thnx for everyone's help, especially CID498 for his words of wisdom. i was able to succesfully do this and also the toyota sevice manual from my local library helped too as it showed how to bleed mmy system. but yes CID you showed, right up a guide for bleeding the whole system including the master cylinder, whenever you have time. you guys were right on the money about this stuff. thnx and now my brakes work 100 times better than the stock ones. i put on the AXXIS Ultimate brake bads that i got off ebay for $40 shipped. awesome stuff, and thnx again for ur help!! thumbsup
