saw a post on a supra forum awhile back that was a link to a japanese website that had a test for filtration and hp gains. They found the best gains and cleanest filtration with the apexi. Hks and Blitz didnt fare so well in the filtration. K@N was second best in filtration and thrid in power I think. The main thing i remember was that apexi won hands down. That was for supras though but I would assume its aplicable.

actually many people have said the AEM CAI works very well with the APEX-i filter...i think that is why he posed the question. to be honest if there are gains...it wouldn't be much...

That kinda defeats the purpose of buying a reusable filter in the first place spineyes

I changed my K&N air filter with looks like an Apexi knock off. No noticeable difference in power other that the K&N was filthy and taking away some power. The sound note changed ever so slightly with the new filter. Check out the Apexi filters. They cost way too much. They are a dry filter that doesn't use oil, so no more cleaning the MAFS though. Some of Blitz filters are metallic and make a different sound also acording to Blitz. Most if not all of them are also dry filters. Check this... Blitz air filters [blitz-uk.co.uk]. Look at that Sonic Power air filter! Check out the prices for those filters too and it makes Apexi look cheap by comparison. HKS is the same as Apexi. I couldn't find charts on airflow characteristics or filtration for any of these except K&N. If you want every last horsepower from your car or if that filter on your car doesn't look as nice as Blitz or HKS you might want to change your filter, but for the 99% of the people here, the K&N will be fine. Here's a picture of that Blitz filter with adjustable heat shield>>>>>
