So does our hood scoop do anything. It does not lead to the intake. There is a vent looking thing below it so does it cool the headers? Hate to sound ignorant but it seems to be mainly for looks.

Yes it is functional. It cools the uhmm.. transmission, I think?

it keeps the heat from the headers from going into our cabin, since the headers go out hte back of the engnine

Who cares even if it wasn't the least bit functional?!
The hoodscoop on my VIS hood is a bigger pimp than me. I think the amount of cool air rushing into that thing on the highway has to have some benefits.
