Size/color rims should I get on my Stockbody Silver 01 Celica (interior is detailed purple)
(not lowering anytime soon, WingsWest kit possibly next year)

reg Silver 17"
reg Silver 18"
Powdercoated Purple 17"
Powdercoated Purple 18"

Any suggestions on a specific rim,
I am interested in 6 or 7 spoke.
(looking no more than $1000 for a package deal)
THANK you all for your opinions!

those size rims might look goofy on a non-lowered celica Sara.

The wheel well gap will look like a monster truck with low profile tires frown

even 17"

depends on the profile of the tire. some people go low profile, and it just looks goofy, you have all this "rim" and so little tire, and wheel gap, it looks incomplete. By all means do what you want with your car, but look over some of the cars in the gallery that have 17's and are not lowered. thumbsup

I agree...the gap would look funny. When you lower it are you going to bag it?

Bag it??? I hope not. Sara is smarter then that!!!! thumbsup rofl rofl

You know my vote already. Sara the gap doesn't look that bad at all. Get 17" wheels with a 45 series tire and it will look all right thumbsup

Re: colored rims...

i think the powdercoated purple would look good, only if you had something else purple on the outside of your car (besides the EC decal)...just purple rims on a silver celi would look odd, even though the inside is detailed purple. you gotta make the color ratio even...otherwise i think it would just look odd. if you got some kind of purple decal or something on your windshield or on the side of your car or hood or something, i think it would look good.

I have a windshield decal "Celica" in purple. along with my purple ecelica.com decals on the smaller side windows.

that might look ok then, but still i would prolly want to put something more prominantly purple on my car if i was to get colored rims. thats just me though, im really picky about everything being symmetrical.

My rims are 17" team dynamics diablos and they're blue. The gap is pretty big but nothing lowering won't fix smile I wish I would have got 18's

those would look really good.

I had 17s with 215/45/17 tires before I had it lowered, and it looked pretty good...alot better than the stock wheels..lol. But I always wished I would have gone with 18s instead of the 17s.

look at my car... i've got 17's with low profile tires... and my car is not lowered... it really does look goofy to me... but i'm not lowering it until i can lift it back up (with cylinders) because my car is molded together and the roads are really crappy around here and i'm not gonna risk messing my kit up...

ehh I think the purple rims would look very different, and I say go for it, and speaking of color coordination you could always get some purple neon or something thumbsup
