If you are willing to spend $650 bucks on a nitrous system just to spray $35 (a bottle) nitrous into the air then go ahead... But when you pull up to another car and purge you better be able to back it up in speed... Because once everyone finds out your a job they will bust on you till you hook it up...

Thanks for all the opinions guys but its only opinions and if I like it then why would I not do it...I agree but to me I think it looks awesome and aggresive which is the look I'm going for..no one around here really races and the ones who do are already scared of my car cause the celica looks fast..plus I'm for show not go...wait until I get another car for that..
if I did run NOS to my celi what would be best for stock internals?I'm thinking 35 if even that much and I doubt I would feel it..

Purge systems advertise that you have a nitrous system on your car. It's really NOT a good idea to advertise things you don't have. That's one of the primary problems i have with the ricers around here. They'll run around with Greddy stickers all over their car, and you'll ask them if they actually have anything greddy, and they can't give you an answer while looking you straight in the face.
In my opinion, a purge system without having nitrous running into your engine is ricey, and though, yes, it looks cool, it's not worth it just for the look.

Spencer I thought about doing the purge too. Just for the look. I've beaten everyone around here that worth racing or that has the balls to step up. And the 2 other people that have Celi's have no clue about imports, mods or racing. The only problem that I have is that in the summer a lot of tourists come here and God forbid that one of them really does have N2O and wants to race. I'll look dumb when I loose or if I tell them that I don't really have N2O. Yes it's a little ricy but, it's your car just dont' go overboard with it.
I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

OK But if just looking for the visual effect and don't really have the need for nitrous it's a happy medium.
It's kind of the same for aftermarket wings. This is not to bash anyone it's just an example. Most wings are just for looks. I personally don't know anyone that buys an aftermarket wing an actually adjusts it to produce perticular downforce.
Again I'm not trying to bash anyone, offend or start a fight. I'm just giving my two cents.

I adjust my wing but I know where you're comming from. But if you're gonna use it for looks, then don't go with NOS 'cuz at $35 a bottle it's gonna get expensive. Go with what the guy said about the CO2 on ebay.

Honestly I could care less what you guys do, its your car... I just was pointing out the cost... $700 bucks to spray a fog out of your hood is retarded... But its your flow so do whatever you think is cool... The purge does look awsome but if you can't back it up, you will look silly.. Don't pull up next to me and purge if you cant back it up because, my spray is real...

this thread is ridiculous..im sure you can find better and more productive things to do than to spray CO2 or whatever the hell you want to out of your car. you want your car to look like you have nitrous..but you dont want the nitrous itself? wtf?

Personally, I wouldn't show my opponent any advantages I may have until it's too late for them to capitalize on such knowledge. If I were to race I'd want to see the look on the guys face once the nitrous kicked in and he got a full view of my rear bumper instead of purging and ruining the surprise

I run a 75 shot on stock internals. A 55 shot is all I would use on the street...
As for the other comment.. The purge system is not meant to be used to show off... It is used to clear the old nitrous out of your line so you have fresh nos when you roll up to the line... It just happens to look cool when you do it... PLus if you are going to race you have need to purge before you go or you will not get the full force out of it when you need it...

hell man, you could always get a cryotech cooling system, you can get that purge look from co2 while still getting some useful benifits from it. believe me, while c02 is cheaper than n2o, it still costs to fill the bottle (anybody who has ever played paintball regularly can attest to this)
The Cryotech systems have a bottle about the size of a standard nitrous oxide bottle, only it's filled with co2, currently, they have three available options for the cryotech system.
the first is an Intake cooler; it's a segment of aluminum tubing (like the kind on a conventional CAI system) it has a bulb inside the tube, with fittings for co2 lines. when you engage the co2 control solenoid, it flash-freezes the bulb, dropping your Intake air temps by about 25+ degrees.
the next option for the kit is a fuel cooler, it's a block that connects to your fuel rail, and it works in a similar manner as the Intake cooler. it will chill the fuel going to the injectors for a denser fuel charge, and cool it off by about 35-40 degrees.
the final component is an intercooler ring, similar to the system many nitrous vendors make, it's a ring of tubing that attatches to the front of an intercooler to make your Intake charge a lot colder, same premise, only it uses co2 rather than n2o. this bit is pretty much useless, unless you run a Turbo system.
all the coolers can be daisy chained into the line from the co2 bottle, you can add a nitrous purge solenoid at the end of the chain for your purge effect if you want, but you also get the benifits of additional cooling for your fuel and Intake. may shave a little time off your 1/4 mile time, and it will definitely help prevent detonation if you use the fuel rail cooler.
I personally don't see the point, but hey, whatever floats your boat...

what do you mean by current? does it take longer for the co2 to come out rather than nitrous? by the way thanks for the info really helpful [/quote] sorry, about that.replace current with amperage.they are really the same.amperage is the unit that current is measured by.(teacher) anyway,if you decide to go ahead with the purge kit you should use a relay to supply the solenoid with the voltage/current,so incase you hold it too long it doesnt screw with the power source its connected to.if you dont know i can tell you how to wire the relay and from what source in your celica to get the power from.

If you think 75 is high talk to hybrid... He has a 50 stage one and a 50 stage two which means he can be running 100 hp shot... even though i'm 50 and 50 i use good gas when i'm racing and change my plugs to #7 ngk its also wired so that the 2nd stage cant be activated unless the 1st stage is activated and you are at wide open throttle. it can be scary to shift(if you misshift while squeezing R.I.P 2zzge) cause the 1st is at the throttle and the 2nd is in my hand with a t shift(b&M)the t shift is a waste of time though esp when speed shifting,i want to get a gts stock shift knob that i'm going to drill and put a small micro switch in.(the original shift knob and stock shifter works the best to me for a celica) the biggest problem with nitrous i find is when you go toO big a shot and you squeeze at too low an rpm.track down here opens up on the 28th and i'm gonaa see if i can coax her on a 60 shot second stage. i use the sx2 nozzle by nx. there is a guy on ebay who has them for 50.00 i think thats cheap.

I run a 75 shot on stock internals. A 55 shot is all I would use on the street... Why is that?
