hey guys, ive had this on for about a 2 months now but the double sided tape for the front lip is slowly coming off. i think its lost its adhesiveness while sitting in my garage since the peel wasnt exactly covering the sticky part. is this stuff sold at pepboys? or somewhere else? i just dont wanna drive around everywhere for some adhesive tape. thanks guys.

i'm sure you can get it there.
you can also get it at wal-mart in the auto section.
prep the surface before you put the new 3m tape on... i suggest cleaning the surfaces with alcohol.

Excellent suggestion. Just make sure it is completely dry before you try to apply the adhesive thumbsup

If you go to Autozone or Pepboys, or any other store like that, they should have a 3m product called "mounting tape". It's a double sided tape that sticks permenantly. the adhesive on it is more than twice as strong as the adhesive on regular 3M double sided tape. That's what i would recommend...

In fact, that's what i'm going to use to hold the rear-lip spoiler that i'm building onto the rear deck of my car.

i'll be testing the strength of the bond on the tape before i just drive around with it wave

Being that the spoile is so low to the car, there won't be any room at all for air to get under it to lift it, and it won't have a high coefficient of drag, so there won't actually be much force on it at all. It will significantly change the aerodynamics of the car (i'm going to windtunnel test it if i ever get the chance). It's going to turn the entire car into a spoiler, because it will direct ALL the air that's flowing over the car upward off the back of the car, and therefore create a LOT of downforce. it's gonna be a long process, but it'll be awesome when it's done.

On a FWD car? wtf What's the point?

because downforce is important on ANY car, whether it's front wheel drive or rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive.

Fear not, i will be building a front lip for the car to balance out the downforce for the front. The idea is to keep traction on all FOUR tires, not just the two that drive the car. It improves the handling and responsiveness of the car wave

I didn't realize you were adding a front spoiler. spineyes

Putting downforce on the rear without any on the front wouldn't make sense on a FWD, but you're not doing that so n/m grin

i'm also planning on building a Urethane undertray/diffuser that directs the air under the car ferrari style to accelerate the air under the car to create even more downforce.

if you can get some fishing line in there, you can cut it loose, but you really shouldn't have a problem with the paint coming off. You can get adhesive residue off with 3m adhesive remover, available at autozone, wal-mart, etc.

i wasnt even planning on taking the lip off, i was just gonna put two pieces on the parts that are coming off. i mean, the bolts are holding it, so i just wanna seal the gapp with the tape. is that ok or should i take off the entire lip? im afraid to unscrew and the screw back in the bolts because it might get loose.
