Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Question about "Bogging" in second...

I've noticed that my car now bogs excessively in second. It makes a very strange "werrr" sound and it sorta sounds like the car is coughing.

It only happens when I'm in second and riding below 15 mph (recommended shifting speed for first to second).

I don't remember the car doing this before, my father says I should be able to use second as long as the car is rolling, and other people on these boards say they start in second frequently.

Any ideas?

Not sure about the bogging, but I get a similar noise in second. I just put up a post in gen. disc. and was told that it could be fixed by replacing the clutch plate. Hope this helps.

do you have any aftermarket Intake on ur car?

clutch plate huh? i already fucked something up after 3k miles? damn im good. how much is a clutch plate?

the Intake might make it bog worse, but with the aem cai its less than injen. the blue bomber mod for cai can help solve bogging problems, hes over at new celica.org.
