How does the Amp + Sub work? Can I have a 1100W amp with a 1000W sub? or does it have to be equal like 1000w amp with 1000sub.

I don't know why you would want an amp with more watts than your subs. You'll risk blowing them. I've got a 1000w amp pushing two 600w speakers. sounds great and I don't have to worry about blowing them. Just my 2 cents.

You won't blow your subs...you can get a 1100W amp and 1000W speakers. Where you really run the risk of blowing your speakers or your amp is with resistance. Just make sure your amp supports the speakers impedance and vice versa. If you listen to your stereo loud enough to use all that wattage you'd kill yourself anyway...you will probably only use 400-500W of that power at most. Unless you compete in SPL competitions. Then thats a whole other story.

I do not know if this will help or not, but teh RMS rating is the one that you should be concerned with the most. As for the Alpine Subs I had a pair and the tensle leads kept breakin. So if you get those subs make sure you under power them a little bit so they will not break on you. You can always fine tune the amp for the speakers though by using the Gain knob on the amp. I would suggest getting a stereo shop or someone you trust to set the gains and crossover point on the amp for you. That way you have a very slim chance of blowing you subs or hurting the amp. Hope that helps, just my .2 cents...

JDMCelica - I would love to explain all of this to you but it would be too much to write. If I was you I would go talk to someone at an audio place and he can set you up with a sweet setup.
Becuase with the items you listed there are just way too ways to set it up. 2-Ohm, 4-Ohm, 8-Ohm, series, parallel, mono, stereo, etc ...
