Did you notice a difference with it? Dont know how to get it out, but I'm pretty sure you need to send it back for reprogramming.

Does it air Intake, fuel or both? s-afc is a different product made by apexi, its a crude air/fuel controller, that will not work on our cars. the Apexi POWER FC, is a complete replacement ecu, you pull out your old one pop in this one and you can tune it to your hearts content, full control over lift, vvt, timing, air/fuel, part throttle, even boost. -J

Most are not even replacements, they are piggyback chips. Piggyback + Celica = No Comprehend

Thanks for all your concerns, but no one has answered the question. How do you remove the ecu? And yes it does work to get your ecu reprogramed. the celica's ODC (onboard dianostic Computer) can be reprogramed. It is the factoy ecu, just reworked. It is NOT a chip from "superchip" which tries to re-flash your chip, which will only work for a while before it resets itself. However the "Jetchip" phisically re-programs the chip. And you will gain 12hp over stock, more mods = more hp.

The only proven ecu to make power is the Apexi Power FC. but if your still stubborned into beliving it works, theres a thread on here on how to remove your ecu and install a apexi power fc :chuckles: all jet will do is stick a "jet chip" sticker on your ecu and you just paid for an overpriced sticker.

let's see removing the stock ECU (aka brain surgery)
1)Remove the 2 10mm bolts on top 2) unplug the wires and the ground harness 3) pull right and up on the blue grounding harness to remove 4) remove another 10mm bolt 5) Done
it really isnt hard and takes only about a minute to do. but my advise is DONT DO IT. but eh doesnt sound you'll listen. make sure you dyno your car before and after and let us know what you find out.

Dont know this as definate but from what I have heard Jetchip and S-Afc will do nothing. If you want to get gains have to go all out and get a stand alone system like the Apexi PFC.
Remeber this when trying to out run the Police "There Isnt a car on earth that can out run the ole Motorola!"

I know that isnt exactly what goes on...but its sorta what it does. dood you just dont and seems like you wont ever get it. 1. you CAN NOT reprogram the factory ecm, there have been NO companies who have been able to crack the ecu. 2. the ecu is NOT FLASHABLE, there is no way to re-flash the ecu. 3. Illusive is exactly right, though Jet and other companies claim it will work on the celica, the celicas ECU has NOT been cracked as of yet. You cannot reprogram it. The default safeguards in the ECU itself, check to make sure everything is ok...aka... If ECU_Setting <> ECU_Default Then ECU_Setting = ECU_Default End if Besides, If the JETChip actually worked, wouldnt you think people on Ecelica would have it?

this is interesting,it will be nice to have him do a dyno before and then after the ecu returns. he might just surprise everybody with some horses!.001 maybe

Your information might not be THAT wrong, those chips can work on other cars. It's just, the celicas ECU has not been cracked yet, so it just resets the changes. Try: http://monkeywrenchracing.com/apexi_power_fc_toyota_celica_gts_2000_.htmlfor the Apexi PFC.

Well i called JETchip the other day and they said that the celica ecu cannot reset itself without prompting. The dealer can prompt the ecu to reset. They told me to let the dealer know before working on the car about the ecu. and they said that if there is any problem with the chip i can return it for more reprograming or a refund. I have a G-Tech in my car (or at least will by the weekend) so i will post dyno numbers before and after the ecu upgrade. Thanks for all the info on the pfc, but $1000 bucks is a bit to rich for me. How much hp does that pfc give you anyway?

How much hp does that pfc give you anyway? Thats bull what JETchip told you. People in the past have tried the jetchip, along with any other chip out there. They say it lasts for a little bit, but is soon overridden. As for the gains, it all depends on what mods you have installed. Lucky_314 has the PFC, so he can help you more on that.

Does the APEXi Power FC control VVTL-i on the GTS? On the Monkeywrench site it says Honda VTEC, but doesn't mention Toyota's system.
