1) cold starts kinda lag, warm - hot starts are better then they ued to be.
2) Idle is smooth as glass now.
3) the tone of the engine changed and everything is a tad bit louder
4) gas mileage has gotten WAY better. I got 40 miles more to a tank so far. next week I'll test the city/highway mileage better. (I always keep count cause of how far I drive to work) so it will be easy to compare.
5) the powerband so SO much nicer. I cant even explain how different it feels. It's like a whole new car.
6) from what I've played with so far launching in lift ROCKS!!!!
you can cruise at 40 - 50 mph in 6th gear and still be able to excelerate. Also I was messing around and let 2nd gear drop to 1K rpms and it didnt die had plenty of power to pull itself back up. stock ecu I woulda died. lol
7) I do not get pulled on by civics, neons, and saturns when I am out of lift
8) you can cruise with the A/C on AND a passenger without noticing too much power loss.
thats all for now. we raced the MWR map vs smaays map and I will be posting that vid tonight. Also just for fun we raced it against a gts with a 50 shot also. lol
hmmmm, new to what these products do but an acquaintance and his friends have the power fc's from mwr and i recall that there are different "maps" you can utilize or you can customize your tuning with a power fc commander. an expensinve investment but it's seems to be worth the price...

Definitely.. VS. forced induction the amount of money spent is a lot less. And if you can get ahold of a dyno...
I posted the vids in the racing forum but I'll copy them here too.
I have AEM CAI, Power FC.
you do need a dyno to tune it properly but since we already dynoed it we knew where there were issues we could easily fix. and it made a big difference with the new map. as you will see in the videos.
you can have a race map and a street map if you want but you have to have the datalogit software.
the greatest thing about the power FC is its a learning mod. the more you mod the better it works
we made these vids to show the differences in power between the cars and to test the new tuning we did...
run #1 - We took the base tuning maps from mwr stuck them on my power FC and took the new map we made and ran the 2 cars with a passenger in each car bout wieghing around 215 lbs so weight was even. you can see I pull on the shifting but the red car is still able to win even with a shifting disadvantage. we end around 120 mph.
Just for fun we used the better map and ran the other celica that has I/E and a 50 shot. This race was a little more uneven and just for fun. The nitrous celica had no interior in the rear and passenger seat out. I had a 215 lb passenger + the seat and a whole hatch full of stuff we brought for the trip up there. SO I had the weight AND HP disadvantage. we hit around 110 mph.
hopefully what we have planned for saturday works like we are hoping. If it does then I'm sure myself and everyelse will have no words to describe it. lol if it does not work out then eh. try again. lol
so if the red car doesnt have the power fc then how come it beat you in the race..i can understand the one with the 50 shot beating you...but i thought the power fc mad you a lot faster...?????

red car had the agressively tuned maps with a power fc
mike had the base maps from Monkeywrench racing, just to show the agressive map was significantly faster, even with the other driver shifting early and slower.

Looks and sounds great! You know what kinda video you need now? A spoof of the eclipse 'days go by' lol. You could be driving...and have illusive breaking out his moves in the passengers seat!
how easy is it to retune the ecu. i know you hook it up to the laptop. but i wanna know how it is exactly done. i dont have a lot of knowledge about this. is it any easy? is it like different maps saved and you load them to the ecu?
you can store as many maps as your computer can hold really. and then you plug the computer into the pfc and simply load the map of your choice.
to edit the maps you really should not try to edit too much witout somewhat knowing what you are doing. also it's best to do it on a dyno so you know what the results are.

there are two choices, FC commander, which is like a diagnostic tool, and allows only adjustments of the power FC and monitoring abilities.
theres the Datalogic, which gives full control, and map saving/loading capabilities- which we use

the one map that the other guy used when you racing with him, did he do any changes or was it just a map that he loaded on it? does ur ecu have to be connected to ur car when you load the program or you have to take it off and save it on the ecu? meaning cant you do it on a desktop pc or ecu has to be on the car ?
and yes you could show it on a tv screen in a car by using an old trick.
make a custom tower and run the video through the video input on the screen. for power you'd need an inverter to get you your power. I've done that before for other purposes when I used to work on bling bling cars. which I no longer do cause most the crap is retarded and I got tired of it.
