We auto get shit all the time.
At least our tannys last longer no mishifts

very true. and we can be comfortable in traffic. eat, drink, talk on phone, etc. is no big deal.

I can do all that in stick or auto. My friend just told me the other day that I should hold the phone with my left hand... before I alwayse used to try shifting with my left hand while talking with my right on the phone.

VW's have the nicest interior or Rsx's or Z's or Rx-8's. One of the only things holding me back from the Celica intially, was the cheap looking dash/interior and those scripted dials and dual colors (orange and green). Vw's always had and will probably have nice interiors. Check out the others listed here and be amazed, especially with the Z or Rx-8. The only thing that got me with the Celica was the Performance and the outside body looks (not including cheaper than 3 of the 4 listed here). To me, today, ever new car wants to look like the Celica. It was perfect looking from day one.

The celica definitely has one of the best interiors around.. I especially like the seats!

I agree 100%. The celicas interior screams 'im expensive'. It doesnt look cheap, and I love the console!

Yeah, thats one thing I love about the '03+. They have a black interior, not grey.

I still think I would have chosen the grey interior color option if I would have had the choice when I bought mine... The lighter the interior the more spacious it appears...

Most of the high hp drag cars (1000 hp+) use automatic trans. 'cuz that's the only way they can get the power to the ground plus they dont have to worry about blowing a clutch. Last yr on supertuner tv they had a 1000+ hp Supra and it had a two or three speed automatic tranny & it was dominating it's class. I think it was the VENOM Supra

Most HP drag cars are automatic because they cannot afford to have a mis-hift. The clutch is really no problem, they have them available that can handle that much power. But mainly, its just because they cant afford a mis-shift that would slow them down the least and make them lose.

in defense to the manual, a good driver can shift more efficiently than the automatic will.

and i'm saying this after being bashed for having an automatic, its relentless. give me a break!

I guess it sorta depends on what color your car is as too what looks the best interior wise. I think the black interior is nice because I love black. It would go great with a Red, Black, and Solar Yellow celica.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Anyone who gets an N/A automatic four banger is obviously not worried about Performance.

And no shit, autos are better for dragging, but that's only if the car has enough horsepower, and enough gears.


Oh, and the reason that most high horsepower cars have auto trannys is not because a clutch would blow under a heavy load (know something about it before you post), but because an after-market torque converter can do a lot more than a clutch can with a car with that much horsepower.

And they can get the power to the ground with a clutch, if they use a clutch that can handle the amount of torque that the car produces. Horsepower is not the deciding factor in how well a clutch can hold.

And the reason that those cars had only three gears or so is because when you have a car with that much horsepower, it would be pointless to have more gears because the transmission or the driver (depending on if it was an auto or manual) would have to shift every second or so because it would accelerate too fast. That in turn would slow the car down.



So don't try and compare an auto 1000+ HP car to an auto Celica.
