My town is having its first ever DB Drag Racing event, and I am the second to enter into it. I was just wondering if anybody has ever competed in one. I had a couple questions about it 1. what kind of music is the best or do they supply it? 2. do your mids and highs make a difference cause if they dont im gonna unhook that amp to keep the juice up for the bass. 3. This is more a question about the subs. I have 3 mtx 6000 12's run by a 6500d at 2 ohms. could i safely run a second 6500d full power and not blow the subs? if not could i just turn the gain down a little? any help, thanx in advance.

hey iowa bro... a couple tips, have someone press down on your hatch and where your door windows seal, and run your a/c before you go up, just remember to shut it off, cold air seems to have a higher db. they will supply the music if you dont have a bass mechanik cd. I usually hit between 45-50 hz that is the optimum frequency for my 3 tens. 2 ohms should be ok for a higher end amp, you only get 30 seconds to hit. it shouldnt stress anything out. How are you getting your ohm calculation, 2 amps on 3 subs only works if they are dvc. Otherwise 3 eight ohm subs are 2.67 ohm load bridged, and 3 four ohm subs are 1.34 ohms bridged. Unhooking the highs amp would help you too. Good luck if this helps any!!

The couple I've been too...have been wierd...they put the mic in the car...usually on the dash...then they hooked something up...and when they pushed the button there was a constant bass...I guess that way everyone would be even 'song wise'...but they hooked the thing up too somewhere near the gas door...on all of the cars? It was totally messed up.

U pic the song and you play for 15 secs..ur loudest is ur score...nothing to do with ur gas door? Some people make you get out of the car when you do it...some let you in with ear plugs. Depends what kind of numbers you have and what class you are in

i just got a better idea. my friend has 1 mtx 8000 12inch in a bandbass box that hits real hard with a 6500d on it. i think if i folded down my seat or took it out that box would fit nicely back there. wont look pretty but who cares, its gonna hit like mad!!!!!!!!!!!!

If its just a little competetion then go for it well either way it doesnt hurt to try. it is an actual db drag, but there is local classes also, i do believe. plus awards for all around systems, most pimped out car, and sexiest car. i generally win any award like that in this area, not bragging but due to lack of competition.

They just had a DB drag event here in Houston. A dude rolled up with 8 JL w3's run off 2 jl 1000/1's in a ported enclosure and a dude with 2 12" audiobahn subs beat him. It's all about the set up and the box. Good luck, that's a fun thing to get into!
