Ok, I test drove a GT and a GTS the other day. I loved the ride for both, but I'm not trilled with the 6-speed, but that's not the problem.
My problem is the damn thing is TOO small for me, I usually sit pretty far back and in the Celica my legs were touching the steering wheel. So, I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas to at least make the driver's side a little roomier, or if you have any suggestions for sporty car (no honda!) around the same price range. I have been looking into the 2001 Impreza RS 2.5, but it's not what I'm looking for.

the celica has a 'tilt' steering wheel function. although it only tilts up down & extremely small increments...it should work enough to fit your legs comfortably

Also, the seat tilts up and down also. It would help if you lower it.

I'm 6'3 and I could NEVER have a problem with leg room... it's the headroom thing that bugs the heck outa me. Either you are Shaq with an online alias or you just need to tilt the wheel a little.

Well, that's relieving!
I'm not that tall, 5'10", and I didn't know about the tilt wheel. It actually was quite comfortable once I got in, but yeah, my legs hit the wheel getting in.
Thanks again ya'll!

The celica is small. And I am not a big or fat guy. So if you are big (tall) you could have problems with the celica.

I'm 6'4", 205, and I have plenty of room in my celi...you just gotta play with the tilt on the wheel and the seat, I have a problem with the pedals some times tho, cause I wear a size 15 shoe

I'm 6'4" and 210 lbs. My only problem with is that I'm a lanky mo-fo, all legs. I just keep the seat slid back, steering wheel about 3/4 of the way tilted up and I have no problems. I was actually quite surprised how much leg room I have. I can stretch them all the way out.

Yea, if you're 5'10" you should be fine, then there's Stephen. Didn't seem so tall when he was sitting in the Celica, then the 6'5" giant stepped out Just kidding Stephen...you looked tall when you were sitting

No doubt, I'm only 6' and I can vouche that the head room could be better.. then again I have a moonroof which lowers the height, because my moms '02 GTS without a moonroof is fine. Everyone already said but yeah just adjust the steering wheel & lower the seat (there is a knob on the left.)
