Planning on changing my oil tonight, and was wondering if I could just jack up both front sides and drain the oil that way, or should the car be perfectly flat?

a slight incline won't hurt...you'll still be able to drain you oil like it was normal conditions...but when FILLING your oild back up, it should be done on a flat surface so you can get a correct reading from your dipstick.

a slight incline won't hurt...you'll still be able to drain you oil like it was normal conditions...but when FILLING your oild back up, it should be done on a flat surface so you can get a correct reading from your dipstick. Yeah, I was gonna do that, just wondered where the draining point in the engine is. If it's towards the front of the car, and the car is tilted back, I was afraid that some of the old oil would still remain in the engine.

no the oil drain plug is to the rear of the oil pan, its just a pain removing the plastic from underneath the engine to get to it all.

If it's towards the front of the car, and the car is tilted back, I was afraid that some of the old oil would still remain in the engine. it's more towards the rear. a slight incline will leave a minimal amount of used oil...but it won't hurt at all (you can never get all of the old oil out anyway...even with a lift)
