which one would you prefer on buying?

Celica just b/c I think it looks better

Same here, though Performance wise, the RSX-S has more aftermarket support for it. I just happen to like the shape of the celica more.

when i didnt have my celica, i chose celica

after i bought the celica, i regretted that i didnt go for RSX-S...

Celica is better looking, will ALWAYS handle better, and is far more *rare* than the RSX-S...I hate seeing them everywhere. fags.

It's just the opposite where I live...the Celica to RSX ratio is like 6:1.

True..around here the RSX is kind of a chicks car. Although I got beat 70 to 120 by two car lenghts on the interstate by an S type. And there were 4 people in it and only me in mine.

reason:
1)RSX's stock paint is not that crappy like celicas...and is better looking
2)RSX-S has a better curve of torque...which is the thing i needed in Canada! A lot of hills!!! omg! celica isnt bad too...but rsx-s can simply be faster
3)RSX-S doesnt look that bad if it got a factory kit...the only thing i dont like about that car is the lights...i hate the rear, and no projector
4)better aftermarket support
5)hell...it's CND$5000 cheaper than my celica...

it would be another story if you had a GTS

i persinally would NEVER consider an RSX over a celcia

if i had to buy another car and get rid of my celi, i'd buy the RXS-S

I looked at both and went with the Celica GTS. Looks better and there are too many RSX's around here. I always find it too tall, especially when driving it. oh, and hate the silver on black dash, very hard to read in certain lighting but I guess that's one mod to do right away if you buy one!

Plus I've beat several type-s in races.

I agree with the tallness. Thats really one of my only gripes with the RSX...it looks too tall.

haha yeah thats true, i brought it up cause i was with the guys. one of them just bought a new rsx-s and like they were comparing it with the celica gts that my friend has and i just wanted to bring that up here and see what you people thought about. thanks for the replies! i wanna see somemore replies

celica...rsx isn't that bad, but celica has better looks and better rep.

yeah, its cool and all but i would rather have a gts (which i dont) over an rsx just cause of the pimp factor

Celica looks way better inside and out. The RSX has better aftermarket support. Stock for stock though, the GTS can take the Type S, it's a driver's race. If it were up to me, I'd go with the GTS all day, everyday, no regrets

Celica, because it handles better and the Performance mods are the same.

With the Power FC, lucky runs the same times as the Hondata people.

Still, the Celica outhandles the RSX.

Plus, who wants that econobox interior? It looks like its from an Echo.

I regret buying the GT auto instead of the GTS 6-speed. But the GTS was 1 year older, had 7,000 more miles, and they wanted $7000 more. I didn't think it was worth the extra money. LIVE AND LEARN I guess. I love my GT though, but if only I'd gone 6-speed GTS...

i have riden with my friend who owns a type s plenty of times, to tell you the truth his interior sucks
he has a blue exterior that is to die for, and when he hits i-vtec, its one of the most beautiful sounds in the world,
that being said
me and him were rolling down i 98 one day and this siler celica gts rolls up, straight of the toyota lot, and starts to rev at him

I think this entire board speaks for itself.. obviously most of us wanted the GTS.

The Type-S is a bit of a POS in my opinion, it's not as good or even as respected as the Type-R, the interior is shitty, cheap leather, the body looks like a big bubble and lacks serious styling.. it's on old VTEC technology, where as the VVTL-i engine is much more superior since it is very much like i-VTEC.

And all of the RSX's have awful resale value, they depreciate really fast, where as a '97 Type-R can be worth more than a '02 RSX-S believe it or not.. I certainly was surprised to realize that one day.

ur obviously gonna get gts answers more than rsx-s since this is celica site. why dont you post the same topic in clubrsx.com and compare the replies. heres my opinion:
they are both awesome cars but purposes on each is different. celica looks fast: its purpose of looks is just to look aggressive sporty, while rsx is just sporty that leans to the luxury side a little more. leathers seats on both cars are similar in quality while the celica is just clean black leather while the rsx has dots all over it. in the cockpit, celica is smaller and is more crowded while the rsx is simple and roomier. cant say which one looks better cz thats taste and it differs wut you looking for. celicas cockpit basically is sportier and everything is closer to reach. as for sound system, JBL vs BOSE. i prefer rsx sound system over celicas but their pretty similar (bose aint that perfect either). celica is way lower than a rsx, smaller is size, lighter in weight. this makes the celicas handling way better than the rsx. as for looks, one is curvy the other is edgy with accented ends. all a matter of taste.
Overall: I like the celica more, because it does its purpose better. both of the cars are suppose to be sporty, celica looks sportier, and looks faster. it also handles better, and gives you better precise control than the rsx. true that rsx-s is a bit faster with better torque and hp, but that is effective on a straight race. if what you want is speed, go get a mustang cobra cz thatll do best on straight lines and you can always mod it to make it go faster. if wut you want is rsx looks than rsx is the car you want. if you thinkin to mod the car, remember that acura has more aftermarket support.

look i don't kno about you guys but ever sence the 7th celica came out in 2000 i have wanted it soo bad. i would go to the toyota site and just look at the Performance stats. i kno wicked geek, but i simply loved the car. it is the only real car that i wanted so bad. my pops used to ask me weither i wanted a farrari or a celica and every time i said celica. if you think i'm lying i'll give you my phone number. i am soo happy to own the car of my dreams even though it might not be the fastest or most expensive, and mine so i could afford it was a salvage vehicle. i worked 4 years (at first under the table and most of the time two jobs)and spent sum of my college money to pay for it. right now i am loking for a job just to pay insurance for my two tickets and my first celica that i totalled.

i don't kno about any one else but i love my damn car.

celica gts all day everyday.. fuck dude just look at a gts.. awesome inside and out. id rather push my celi than drive a rsx. period.

Toyota cars have the rep of being the most reliable cars in the world, and Honda has a rep of making crap. Im tryin to get a job down at Koons Toyota because my uncle works there, so I can get a few more connnections down for parts.
