Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way you could possibly use one is on the exhaust cam since the Intake cam is controlled by vvti. And that may be only on the GT engine. Does the GTS use vvti on both cams?
first off, i agree, i never new that they made those for our cars, is that right there bs, or is that really made for our cars?? And is that hp gain true or bs as well?? And if it is true, how does it give that much more HP??

cam gears can yeild that much power, and those ones allow you to advance and retard timing.
retarding the timing will allow you to run bigger boost levels and spray more nitrous among many other tuning factors...
in an engine, the weight of internals make all the difference... and if those save 1 - 3 lbs of parasitic lag on the cams, they can for sure add upwards of 10 hp...

I don't know if that would make any HP maybe a couple with a lot of testing/ trial and error for our cars. I may be wrong, but don't our engines adjust that anyway? Advance or retard the timing. I found it cheaper for $70 here if you want to try it... tuningdepot [tuningdepot.com]

Wow thanks for the posts guys! Thanks Spatz. It sounds like its a worthwhile mod, especially since we can get it for only $70 (cheaper than AEM pulley). Now all I'm worried about is the quality of OBX products...
Anybody want to be a ginny-pig? Only $70 I would probably do it but I don't have the money for the install right now ----> College + no job + girlfriend = 0 $$$

If you get into tech data on the gts youll see we have a timing chain not belt which is prolly cause the gts engine was built in conjunction with yamaha. Most toyotas have belts such as the gt. Also the ad you posted said n/a next to celica sorry .

All of the apps have N/A next to it, its for color.
i'll guinea pig it if i understood where it went and really wat it does other that retard timing. i love anything that will give me more power.
What Spatzkid was saying is to not adjust the sprocket at all, and that merely the lighter weight on the sprocket itself would be greatly beneficial. Less weight on a cam sprocket does seem like it would make a pretty large difference imo
YEah, just adjust it, so that it stays the same size as the stock sprocket, then just use it for weight issues, like it was said, the less weight, might take away some of the parastitic effects, thus not adding more hp, but getting more hp out of the engine, might work, so question still stands...Guinea pigs anyone??
