Picked up the body kit + the GT wing yesturday + mounted the
40mm lowering springs & 8.5x19" rims with 235/35 falken tires. The body kit will take some weeks before it's mounted, so you'll have to wait for pics of that.. anyways, here are 2 quick snaps I took of the car just to show the rims on the car...

The springs are pretty stiff. I took one of the stock springs and compared it to one of the lowering springs. Both stood equally tall, but the lowering spring had twice the ammount of coils on it.

It's a pretty firm & bumpy ride, but I knew it would be before I mounted it. I had 19's with 35 profile tyres on my old car aswell. it's all about the looks, and has NOTHING to do with comfort at all :-) Doesn't really help that the roads here in norway are totally shit either.

You learn where there are big bumps, and you never drive there any more with such low profile tyres ;-)

Also, what body kit did you get?

I've bought the OCTANE front, buddy club I sides, and bomex rear + the APR GT-200 wing. I kinda regret getting any kit at all, as the car looks good as it is. but...hey...done is done, and there's nothing left to do but to get the kit on and try out how that looks. might be better than it is now...might be worse. we'll find out smile

Tried to mount the front bumper yesturday. Fitment was...well... "fitment" isn't really a word I want to use when talking about that bumper. 'Cause it doesn't. At all.

I bought the stuff purely because the guy selling it promised good fitment. So I called him today and said he needs to find some kind of sollution - 'cause I'm not paying anyone to spend a week basically having to mould a new bumper 'cause the one I got is shit in so many ways it's unbelieveable. And I'm not spending 3-4 weeks waiting for a new kit either. and with no front, I don't need the buddy club sides (which has a horrible finnish), the bomex rear, or the apr gt-200 wing.

So.. RIGHT NOW, I get the feeling I'm going to end up returning everything, and spend some more cash on lowering the car 50mm with springs and shocks, an exhaust, and...well, that's about it. go for the VERY clean look smile

I had to call back tomorrow to get an answer to what sollution the shop that sold the stuff can offer.

Oh, and just in case you're looking for a kit: DON'T buy from www.aitracing.com [aitracing.com] -- 'cause that's where my parts came from.

Just got off the phone with the guy I bought everything from. A new front is beeing sent express from the US. It was a matter of "it just shouldn't be like that". And seeing as my alternative to not trying to get this kit sortet, is going kit-less, I'm giving them one last chance. The new bumper is coming next week, and the one I have now I got permission to do whatever with. Seeing as I'm getting new headlights, I can mount the poorly-fitting octane front I have right now on my livingroom wall together with the old headlights...? :-)

Or have the satisfaction of having a small "how far can you throw a bumper" competition by myself? hm..

Anyways - Going down there next (not coming, next after that) weekend to pick up the new one. And if it doesn't arrive by then I'm returning everything.

...weeks???

it's already been weeks, and it's still not mounted :-/ the front bumper didn't fit at all, so a new one was ordered. I was supposed to pick it up last weekend, but they hadn't gotten it out of customs yet. Promised they'd have it delivered to me this week. If they don't, I'm returning everything. Pretty sick and tired of seeing everyone having their cars ready for summer, kitted out, and I'm still waiting for parts :-((((((

I'm not even going to get that much into details, 'cause it'll end up in several pages of profanity - so the short story: the bumper didn't turn up, new one promised next week with a price reduction.

Promises, promises, promises. well...as long as i'm getting some money back...

Did a new front bumper turn up as agreed? No. Not yet anyway. But I couldn't really care less 'cause summer here in norway only lasts 'till the end of august. After that, you can pretty much start mounting all the original parts again (springs, bumpers etc) so I'm just too fed up waiting to bother anymore -- so I returned everything today. The GT-200 wing, bomex rear, buddy club sides... Blah.

So now's the time to try and figure out WHAT TO DO. Going to lower it as much as possible, so I'm going to need a camber adjustment kit. An exhaust will be made. But after that, I'm not sure. Been thinking about challenging myself a bit with trying to make the car look good by just using custom modifications. But I'm not sure yet if I want to go down that road. A body kit can always be removed again if it doesn't look too good. If you've gone mental with power tools on your bodywork, it's not that easy fixing it if it comes out looking iffy.

then there's the option of saving all my money this summer (just lowering + exhaust now) and coming back stronger next summer -- with lambo doors, carbon hood, bodykit... I donno.

But whatever happens, I'll be sure to post pics here :-)

And sorry to those of you who were looking forward to seeing the result of the octane/bomex/buddy club combo. but if you're dissapointed that it didn't happen -- just imagine how dissapointed I am.

I'd love to get some fender flares (like BRS, or BSR or whatever they're called) and the kaminari kit (without the wing) and have 10x19's up front and rear :-) that would look sweeeeeeeet. anyways -- got a whole year to plan "my next move" (and a year to save up money) so...we'll see smile

Oh, and just in case you're looking for a kit: DON'T buy from www.aitracing.com [aitracing.com] -- 'cause that's where my parts came from.

Don't mean to be an ass but if you look at the site they are selling obvious knock off's with pics of original pieces. You asked a question that you knew the answer to but you didn't wanna comprehend the correct answer. he is selling a product and will say anything to get your $$$. Replica pieces look someone the same but have shitty fitment. this has been stated time and time again. in the world of body kits "you get what you pay for"

It's the dealer here in norway that promised "great fitment". We got into a whole debate about shitty glass fiber copies, and he kept on reassuring me that the fitment was top. in their defence, a veilside kit ordered from them didn't have any issues with fitment at all -- went straight on the car. so, some of their stuff might be good. but the octane front didn't fit at all, and the finnish on the buddy club sides are terrible. the bomex rear bumper only required some small adjustments to fit.

What pisses me off is that when I ordered it I said "if you're not sure about the fitment and quality of these parts, i'd rather spend a bit extra and buy something else than have to try and make some glassfiber s*it, that doesn't fit, fit." and all I got every time was "it fits, no problem." and it's not a question of the dealer trying to make money off me either, 'cause i've bought parts from him before and he KNOWS i don't take shit, and that i return every single little part that has some issues/problems.

anyways. it's been resolved. I'm getting my money back. going to spend some cash on a AEM CAI, lower the car some more, and have an exhaust made. after that, i'm not sure.
