Alright how many of you out there have sport bikes and if so which kind and what are your thoughts on it? I'm getting a bike in a couple weeks but I'm still undecided which to get. I know I want to stay around in the 600 class(insurance purposes). So what do you think R6,ZX-6RR,CBR, GSX, or a Triumph. What do you all think?

R-6 or a gsxr 600, you cant go wrong. If you are looking for a bike to take out of town on long trips though neither one of these bikes would be favorable, as both put quite a bit of weight on the front wrists. I am going to be getting an R-6 or the gsxr 600 hopefully within the week, so that is what i would go with.

HONDA 600RR. I know we badmouth hondas on here, but I ride a 954RR and wouldn't trade it for anything. Plus everybody has a GSX-R. The R6 is a sweet ride too though.

I just got my Honda 599 Naked Streetfighter two weeks ago. I love it, its fast, and insurance is cheap since its naked. Hit 135 today and still had 5ooo left on the tach thumbsup

rode an R6 and an R1, I like both but R1 definitely thumbsup eventually with enough time after riding the R6 you will get bored and want something with more power just something to think about.

The R6 isn't slow though, is it?

Cause I want a bike that can haul ass...But don't want to spend too much, like money for a Busa. Any other bikes that are faster, but in the same price range?

LOL...That's just lame. Like, any sport bike would crush most all cars.

Must admit though...The celi does look fast, especially when it's modded! thumbsup

R6,ZX-6RR,CBR, GSX...all of these are incredibly ausome bikes. the limit to how fast you can go between these bikes wont be which bike is actually faster, it will totally depend on your riding skill. the bike will be as fast as you make it.

get whatever bike you think looks best

i looked and looked, because my insurence sucks, i couldnt even have a 600. I had to have a naked v-twin, which means a sucky bike or nothing at all, i rode the suzuki sv650s, which has like a half fairing, the rest can be added, but the bike handles and pulls awesome, best of all its only 40 bucks a month for full coverage. After this will kill for a zx10, until then this will do

BTW, A Hayabusa is a 1300 and definately not a bike for a beginner. The insurance on them can be outrageuos if you are young too. If its your first bike, don't get in over your head and get killed. ALL BIKES ARE FAST, but some are crazy-fun-fast... grin grin grin grin grin

You better have mad skills before you toss your leg over a zx-10 that beast will pull it doing 3rd gear roll ons.horsepower to weight ratio would be like a 4000 horsepower pinto...As far as a 600 bike for your first bike have you ever rode before??? if not.. a gsxr , r6,zx6,cbr-rr will be to much.I know they are the cool looking bikes and the ones that everybody wants.but you need to learn the basics first and pulling the front wheel in 1st and 2nd gear on an r6,or a gsxr600 is not the basics it is a fast way for a non-skilled rider to kill him/her self.but if you must get one of the above bikes get the gsxr 600 out of all of the 2004 bikes it is the best handlingand fastest in its class.IMO good luck in whatever you get and ride safe thumbsup

You'd have to be insane to get a Busa, there friggin sick. I have about 3 years riding exp. but havn't had a bike since college. That was 5 years ago. Had a Katana 600 and that had no balls. But I have 2 cars(G35C & Celi) so I can't go too nuts. I'm leaning towards the ZX-6RR Ninja.
