I was thinking about removing the butterfly, but I was wondering if anyone knows if that will void the warranty?
Would I have to just put it back in before I took it to the shop?

Always a good idea to replace stock parts before going back to the dealer. Give them less ammo for their gun of incompetant refusal.

Gotcha! Is taking out the butterfly at all difficult? I read the Installs section and it didn't seem toooo hard. Is it something a novice could handle with directions?

There are federal laws that state that just because you have a modification to your vehicle, does not mean that it automatically voids your warranty. They have to be able to prove that the modification did, in fact, cause the problem.

There is no federal law REQUIRING them to work on your car in a prompt fashion. It's easy to stick it back in, why give them a reason to bitch.

But it was to my understanding that the dealership cannot deny warranty work on your car without there being some sort of legitimate reason Or do you mean that they would work on the car, but jsut take their sweet time on it?

they would work on it, but you'd get it back in like 4 weeks.
Nothing says they have to do it fast.

It's supposed to make you sound cooler, and give you small gains to HP.

by taking out the butterfly is just something to make your car sound better. The butterfly is like a mute and it trys to make the engine sound quieter.
