hey guys i got a question, i'm thinkning of putting a short shifter in my car, the TRD one just because i want to keep my warranty. What do you guys think of it? would it worth the money doing so? (how much would it be for labor?) Would it mess up my car? Please let me know what you guys think thx.

from what i have heard, the trd shifter is the highest ss and therefore it's not really different.

it would be $0 for labor because it is very easy to install (about a 2 on a scale of 1-10)

it wouldn't mess up your car--your celica can handle much faster shifts than what could phyically be possible for you to do.

i have a b&m..and i love it. i also don't think it voids your warranty anyway because it has absultely nothing to do with modifying your engine.

get twm its easy to install(unless yo do it in 20 degree weather like me) has better Performance then the trd one, also it wont mess up your car at all if its done right which is easy, only problem i had doing it was getting the wires off the plastic thingy to get the Spacers in.

the trd is a nice shifter its a lil longer but smoother.

b&m has the shortest throws

twm has teh shorts length.

if you car is 02 or newer or has the wider gates then no the trd will not keep yoru warantee.

also anyshortshifter can void yoru warranntee if any part of the shifter mechism breaks.

TRD is the smoothest and has the cleanest throw.

b&m has the shortest throw, but with that comes an increased risk of damaging your linkage.

TWM is the shortest rod, but it very hard to get used to (so they say)

A short shifter will void your tranny warranty. Linkage, gears, syncros, etc.

If you could do it all over again, would you still get the twm?

The SS will not void your warranty

http://www.enjoythedrive.com/content/?id=8124

Especially a TRD one .

I have a TWM bought it at PTuning.com I had it in my hands 21 hours after I payed for it by paypal took 1 hour to install If I did another one it would take me about 30 minutes

but remeber the trd is only going to be covered under warrantee if it is a early 01 or older. anything iwth the wider gates and it will void the warrantee

I've got the TRD SS and I love it. It won't mess up your car, or affect your warranty, labor time shouldn't be to bad, unless you take it where I did rolleyes You could probably even do it yourself, pretty easy.

It is definately worth the money smile
