Yup, just like the topic says, what kind of modifier are you? Are you the kind who cares more for sound and looks, or Performance and gains? Just curious as to what the more popular thing here on ECelica is, although i think it is more Performance oriented here.
i think atleast partly everyone here is in it for the looks, or else they wouldnt have a celica. without serious cash flow or a lot of saving its going to take a bit to have lots of power gain from them. i guess im kinda smack dab in the middle maybe leaning alittle towards looks, but only because it is my dailer driver, not a track car. but in all honosty who here doesnt like a little speed every now and then to show of to your friends or make someone in their honda look dumb. too bad making it look good slows it down though, thats my big thing. im still debating on 17's or 18's for that reason, and how big of a system i want in the car. there are people on this board taking out seats to save weight and here i have leather...

Depends on the car...Me I like Performance but on the celica I had to go with looks...
To deny the simple pleasures in life is to desire death in the most horrifing way.
well like i said i go for the Performance, because the car looks nice stock so yeah. i mean i am going to get a kit but its like 3gs to get so ill wait on that till i get a better job. i know parts are expensive 2 but oh well i wanna go faster and faster (on the track)
i'm in for the whole package baby! The celica has the looks, and the potential for some nice Performance, so i'm gonna work on it all! The only thing i'm not putting a whole lot of money into is my system. The rest of it is probably going to be the direction of my cash flow for several years to come.
I have a half-decent sound system, although I'd really like to have a custom box molded in the trunk area but I actually do use the trunk space plus I keep the full-size spare just incase because I've needed it twice before.
I do enjoy the show look as I always wash and have started to wax my car, so I am after lowering kit and some nice (imo) rims and I'd like to get a subtle body kit just for a bit more flair and I'd like to dress up the interior a lil' bit and I'm not sure about any decals.. if so I'd kind just like some logos up the side under the mirros.
Performance is great too, I also want the lowering kit to lower my center of gravity and improve my handling and cornering, plus light weight rims (despite I keep a full size spare in the rear,) I do hope to get a TRD exhaust down the road, Blitz S-Ram, pulley, grounding wires (though they don't add much it still helps) and I'd really like to do a couple other things and start going to the track and drag strip sometime.
So thus I'd inclined to be into everything.

my first mod was upgrading the stero, went from stock up to a aftermarket head with a 10 changer... next is basic mods just exhuast... i think its just a phase, soon enough i will want a cadaliac and want phat dubs! i dont know
I try to keep it as even as possible. Im not out to beat z06 vettes, but i refuse to get embarressed by a stock GTS driven by a grandma just because my stereo and rims are pretty heavy. still havent posted pictures yet of my car but when you see it, the rims are big and heavy. but they totally make the look of my car. my interior is show quality for these parts of the woods, (not gonna win any out of state shows). long story short - have a damn nice lookin car that is fast enough to scare the chicks you pick up, not fast enough to make them puke.

Hell yeah. stock system sounds good enough for me. Its just what I feel like doing, but Im doin both right now
mostly Performance mod's, but after my suspention, nitrous, port&polish is done, then im gonna start goin more for looks i think...before i get a kit i want to run break into the 14's with my GT
was....5speed with i/h/e 15.41 @ 89.30mph 2.282 60'
thats what i meant when i said everyone here prolly cares atleast somewhat about looks if they bought a celica because stock they are sweet. and performace you can do with it, but if you only cared about speed it would be a lot cheaper for like a first gen talon awd Turbo and do mods to that. for half the price of a celica you can have like a 10-12 sec car.
SHOW i have an auto. Even if i didnt i would still probably go more towards the show side. Im still in high school so the bling factor is more important.
I'm both. I like a well rounded car. Good looks, good speed, good handling. For looks i have all the basics, kit, rims, carbon fiber trd wing, carbon fiber hood as the main stuff, for suspension i have tein ha, for speed i have Turbo.
I also have a GT but that doesnt stop me from making it faster. The engine is just good enough for me. I'm not big on this car's engine. I dont tune my car to speed, more on driving pleasure. Having a FUN car is big thing to me.
I got an exhuast and a K&N air filter. Some rims. So i have a lil show and go. Next will be some teins. This summer i want to put a 150w powered sub in my car. This summer will be a lot of show mods. I one day want a SRI.
i'm going to try a nice degree of all with my celi. after doing looks before Performance, then stereo... i reckon treat yaself to a nice stereo while you get used to the cars Performance, then up it when you need that bit extra
I'm more show than go, but I've put higher compresison internals in my GT, and an Intake, and am waiting for my exhaust to get here...other than that I'm leaving it alone (no Turbo, nitrous, etc.)...I've got chrome wheels, graphics I designed, and am working on putting together a body kit...I like looks and basic Performance mods, rather than putting huge amounts of money into big engine stuff.
well I started modding with basic preformance stuff
but Im kinda buying on what comes along...Im kinda balanced though leaning more toward the daily driver side...though I would love to drop a Turbo on it someday
