Considering my car was worth 14,500 and a GT, ummm...your car WILL NOT be totaled!!! If it is, something's wrong with your insurance company. You can get a bumper for $300 at the most (fiberglass) and an exhaust can be made or fixed (bought off the shelf will be expensive). Your body lines are lined up, so your frame isn't messed up. You'll be fine-put a new bumper on and you're good to go!!
That's true, but mine had someone hit me in the side with them going 60 MPH, frame bent in 2-3 places, not including a big f$#%ing hole in the side of my car. The Passenger door would'nt open-had to cut it off-side was smashed into the passenger seat. It wasn't totaled.
Good luck with the insurance company though, they're hard to deal with sometimes!!
let me tell ya wat happend. i was at a red light, then it turned green and wen i looked up bam i got hit, i came out the car and was like wtf happend, he was like sorry man i wasent paying attention. I said its okay get ur insurence card and let me see it, so i went to the car and got a pen and paper, he was shaking wen he handed the insurance card. wile i was riding his info down he said is there any way you can take the car to a shop and send me the bill. so in my head i was like so i said sure ill give you a call monday. now i dont wanna go and say its going to cost 1000 dollars and he wont belive me, so i was alking ya how much should i tell him, im going to keep the money i dont want a new stock bumper, i was planing on using that money for the exhaust and headers. what should i say guys?????
Go to a shop and see if they can give you a free estimate on the damage. Going by that, stock parts are usually more expensive than aftermarket. Whatever the estimate is should help you in getting a exhaust, but headers may be a different story! But that would be my first thing. (in my head, a factory rear end would be about $500. The tip would be at least $100, so from there, see what someone else at a shop can tell you). Good luck!
Well its not your fault he duffed your car so stick it to the man. go to 3 shops and get the average or just give him the biggest bill:). then call up mvpmotorsports and order a body kit. easy as that:) definately get it looked at by a few shops. don't be afraid to charge him for hitting your car. especially if the dead beat has no insurance. If he gets weary on payment call the cops and he will pay a lot more money than just a simple bumper fix

Just copy an estimate that a shop gives you, and give it to him as proof. Send him the most expensive estimate though, and fix your car as cheap as possible.
But then again, an estimate is an estimate, and the total will almost always be more than what they quote you at, so tell him that the estimate price isn't set in stone.

why not just call your insurance & have them take care of everything. Have your people call his people
i did that and he is going to pay for it with his own money. I wish i had just gotten a quote from some places and sent him the most expesive that way i could have gotten a body kit but oh well i guess. All in all the the new bumper cost him about $650
The damage doesn't look that bad at all. However, out of the thousand cars a year that roll through the shop I work at every great once and a while a rear end collision has been known to jam/bend parts of the exhaust system, especially if the collision was low on the bumper. You will probably be fine with just the bumper... but a heads up to listen very carefully for exhaust rattling noises for a while. Well best of luck and hope you can get a body kit out of it
damn i wish i would of said it was $600. he called me today and said $534.93 was no problem, damnit oh well ill just save up more to get headers and exhaust
Don't let them try to repair it. I got rear ended here in VA. The cost to get an entirely new rear bumper cover cost only $40 more than repairing. So the person's insurance company (USAA) covered it. I got my new bumper.

Hey just look on here for a blue bumper then you can just put that on for half of that price, plus it will be painted... other then that you might even be able to get an exhaust... just look in the sale items
