In pictures, the GT Intake manifold looks like it is covered by a black plastic sheild, is that what it is? Or is it paint? Never actually looked under the hood of GT in person.

Perhaps to help sheild from engine bay heat?

Would there be an advatage to insulating your cai and Intake manifold pipes?

its just a black plastic cover...i dont think it really helps...just looks...

Yea, just plastic...Not sure how well it works, but keep in mind that less heat is better thumbsup

Hey thanks everyone, for that info.

My curiosity is aroused by the concept of insulating the entire Intake system against heat soak.

I'm envisioning one of those cryo CO2 cooling systems incorporated into the insulation. Though rapid cooling brings to mind visions of condensation. But hey, it's 4:20 in the afternoon and I'm just thinking out load here, more homework needs to be done,
