My splash guard in my left wheel-well came off on the Saw Mill Parkway the other day and I was wondering if it is safe to be driving my car in the rain because my Intake is now exposed. I do have the filter covor on it that came with the Intake. Its a k&n typhoon cai . Im basically just curious if there is a potential danger of water being sucked up into my motor.

Splashing water will no hydrolock your engine. That is a huge misconception. You can hold a hose on ur filter and run the engine and be fine. Unless the end it submerged in water you will be fine.

The same thing happened to me not too long ago. My plastic shroud ripped right off when i went over a lump in the freeway. It dented my filter too, just the filter thankfully. I decided to replace it with a new one but yeh, no hydro lock. The Intake is not really sucking in air, its really the atmospheric pressure that is forced in when driving.
