5w30, because it's what Toyota recommends.

Either will work, but 5w10 is what mobil 1 and toyota reccomend.

Yes, I use synthetic, Royal Purple to be exact thumbsup

I live in Texas, and the summers can get hot as a bitch, so during the summer I use 10w30. I change oil twice a year, once in July (using 10w30) and once in January (using 5w30).

well, if I were to use non-synthetic oil, then I would change oil about every 3 months (I average about 1000 miles a month, so changing oil every 3000 miles sounds about right).

However, since I use synthetic, there's no need for me to change oil so often, therefore I change it every 6000 miles (which comes to about twice a year) thumbsup

I use Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic and change about every 4,000KM, which turns out about 4 to 5 times a year. thumbsup

mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic about every 5-6 weeks (yes I drive that much)...but speaking about oil...I was in the store this last weekend buying my 5w30, and saw some mobil one 15w50 oil and the label said "for Performance driving"...I didn't buy it because I wanted to be safe, and didn't know if it would be too heavy...

that oil is useless in a celica, you'd need to be running VERY hot to utilize that.

15w30 is a little too thick for a Celica. Would be decent in a V8 though.

You should still go with the 5W-30. At operating temperature, both are the same viscocity. You are putting additional startup stress on your engine by using an oil that's thicker when you start it up. The designers of the engine picked 5W-30 as the recommended viscocity for a reason. Think you know more than they do? Ever taken a course in determining lubrication requirements?
