I painted my center console today. It turned out good. I painted it black. I was wondering if i should do anything after clear coat. I heard something about using wax or buffing. Anybdoy who has done this could you give some tips on the final step after the clear coat.
ur turn out great but mine turn out shitty. i'll post some pics so you guy can see what i'm talking about..i use a ton of paint but some how it didn't cover all area..so disappointed..spend the whole weekend doing it and it turn out shitty.
you might want to wet sand it...then see how smooth you get it, then maybe follow with paint again and clear coat (im not sure on the details after wet sanding)
wet sand with 0000 grade steel wool...if you have a decent amount of clear coat on there...it should take out the surface scratches. then you can use some rubbing compound and it will fix those scratches the steel wool leaves. then after about a month of letting the paint cure...you can wax it.
I already put it back in my car. Is that a bad thing? What kind of rubbing compound shouuld i use? I have 600grit sand paper. Is that going to work the same as wool?
even the 2000 is gunna be a bit to much, spend the 5 bucks and get the 0000 grade steel wool. I'm currently working on mine. I'll post pix when it's done
i had mine black..looked soo sickkk..amazingg..def r good shit..BUTTTT it can scaratch easily..and and gets soo drity ..mine was so clean and shiney..but th seocnd you touch it..FINGER PRINTS EVERYWHERE..i then proceeded to do a silver gfiberglass center console
