Celica Forums General Discussion General My new Celica...and the drama it brings

So yesterday I picked up my new Celica from the dealer. My mother drove me there and then followed a few cars behind me back to my house. Halfway back we drove into a huge lightening/rain storm and I could barely see. Going off the exit ramp in my town I waited for my chance to go when I felt my car get hit from behind. I pulled into a parking lot but no one followed me. I called my mom but she didnt answer her cell. Turns out on the offramp a pickup couldnt stop, hit my moms car, which hit another car, which hit me! All I got was some license plate screw marks in my bumper but it was not the way I wanted to start with my new car!

So today I think everything is fine and I let my sister (whose 17) borrow it to show her friends. Right after picking up her friend she gets pulled over for speeding, driving without a seatbelt, and having a passenger before the required 6 months! He followed her back to my house and took her license and MY registration. So right now I have a cop in my living room talking to my sister and my mom.

So yah, thats my experience with my new car. Looks sweet though. Lets hope the bad luck wont turn into a curse!

Well theres one thing you can cheer about.. it couldn't have started any worse so it's not gonne get worse can only go better from now on

Bad news, dude. I can't make any claims for the 7th gen bumpers, but the 5th gen had very robust bumpers. I took several really good hits on my rear bumper and only had cosmetic damage. I would keep a low profile with the cops for awhile. Its bad news when the cops know your vehicle...

Thanks for the support. My moms car incredibly has absolutely no damage on the rear bumper despite the trucks front end being messed up (props to Camry's bumpers). Her front bumper and headlight need to be replaced. Although mine was pretty minor, it costs like $350 for it to be filled, sanded and painted-but thats ok cause the guy in the truck is paying. As far as my sister, we are ok because my mom knows the cop real well so she didnt get her license taken and I got my registration back. Thats a good thing because Im leaving now to meet my insurance guy to get it officially insured-wouldnt that have been awesome to have a cop run the plates and find that although its registered and my insurance guy knows of it, he hasnt even met with me yet to take pics and sign the papers! Whoa to this car. If anyone wants to feel my pain and say, help me pay for some mods then I'll gladly set up a paypal account that you can all donate too!

sorry to hear about that..the first night i got my celi my mom got us lost on the way home from the dealership...i had to follow her and we got stuck on this huge highway...so it took us two hours to get home...so much for a new tank of gas..then a week later my friend got a speeding ticket in my car...

I guess you a really nice older brother to lend YOUR car to your sister to show off the car for you WTF..The accident is just pure bad luck but with new car something will happen to it maybe this is yours.

take the 350 the guy is paying, and buy a body kit (or atleast half a body kit) or a spoiler or an exhaust... come on just a little hole? someone fucked up my front bumper (besides me) and i dont care, im just waiting on money to get a new one, trd or kam... from this site i have learned to cheat insurance companies... i cant wait till some truck drops something on my hood, and i can use the money to buy a nice carbon fiber one

wow sorry bout that situation..

heres my boy's weird story...he won 16 grand last year in atlantic city after gambling for a week...so he buys an RX7 cash...gets hit by an old lady at an intersection 3hours later..pissed as hell...brings it to the shop a day later and buys a body kit from VIS..its in the shop for two weeks...we pick it up..its fuckin beautiful!!!..later on that night, thieves decide to steal his older brother's jetskis on the front lawn, as they steal the jetskiis, they side swipe the freshly modded and painted RX7!! not even 5 hours comeing out of the shop!! haha...we call it the red devil...he traded it in for an expedition...we told him it was the devil incarnate!!

xplodeloadz-I'd have to say his luck is even worse than mine. Believe me I already thought of using his $350 towards a kit. I mean they have to take off the bumper and repaint it anyway, mine as well have them repaint a new Kaminari bumper! I'll see what happens.

Yeah, try to get a kit from him. $350 can get you half way to a nice looking kit.

As for the whole drama, think of it this way. That is all of the bad luck you will have with that car period. Just stop letting people drive your car.
