I purchased a kaminari kit stright from kaminari and recently recieved it. I found a shop that would paint my kit for $450.00 he said he would do atleast 5 to 7 layers of paint and would match my color perfectly. I was wondering if this is a good price? Any thoughts?

well...i was quoted $800 with a hookup.
that's with him making little samples and adding colors and stuff to make it match perfectly.
450 is good if they're just gonna use the stock paint code and paint without blending or matching. otherwise, i think it's a dangerously low price.

dangerously low eh? He said he would match it perfectly and 5 to 7 layers seem decent right?

you don't need so many layers of paint i think stock is three coats of paint and one coat of clear
450... does that include wetsand and polish?

i got mine painted for 500.00. of course it doesn't match exactly the car's color . but you can barely see the difference. before taking yur car to anybody make sure to check if his business is legit and if he offers any type of warranty on his work. mine did for 90 days . it's not that much but it's better that nothing( also it shows you that the person can back up the quality of his work). another thing double check for the number of layers he will use. i don't think you need that many layers. i think that it's too much. and you don't want the paint to start cracking and chipping. also one last advise. once you paint it wash the painted parts by hand for at least three months. don't take it to those power wash places. it will ruin the paint. good luck man. post picture later

First, check out the paint job that they have done in the past. There should be a few cars parked there after a finished paint job. See if he is legit. If the work looks clean, then $450 is a hell of a nice price.
I paid about $800 when I got my WW Kit painted and installed.

Ok you guys are right!! 7 layers is way too much I spoke with another guy who works for a proffessional shop out here where I live. They have been in business for many years and they have an account where I work. He told me that you only need 3 layers, and he would do my kit as a side job for me for only $350.00 he told me he would guarantee his work and give me refrences to call also. Now this price is way low but he says he uses high grade paint and will match my car color perfectly. What do you guys think?

go for the more reputable shop, even if they charge a little more...
case in point: I just got the following parts painted -
- spoiler end-caps - hood scoop - trd eyelids - sideskirts
...the price was high but the quality of the paintwork was amazing and it matches my exterior perfectly

yeah... my biggest concern is that the job gets done RIGHT. I don't want any sloppy sh&t done on my car. I will have to look into this further then
