every time i go past 2100 rpm's ( yes, it is EXACTLY 2100 rpm's) i get a kinda metal vs metal grinding sound. i dont know what the hell its from. when i stay at that rpm it doesnt make the sound, its just when i accelerate through 2100 rpm's. do you guys have any idea what it is? i wanna have a clue before i take it to the dealer, im still under warranty, so hopefully it will be fixed. so you know what it is?

My GTS does the same thing at about 1900 rpms. I took it to the warranty and they couldn't find anything wrong. They said its's probably my CAI. It started doing it a few days after i put it on. After I clean it it goes away a little bit.

check your hood release latch on the interior, if it jiggles, you need to go thru the TSB

I'm telling you, check out the hood latch.

it's a metallic vibration/rattle that happens at a certain frequency (engine speed)

my friends car made the same noise at around the same rpm. his is an rsx though. right when he accelerates makes that metal to metal noise, like something is vibrating or loose. it was the inner axle. thats a common rsx problem. if nothing else works, try to check the inner axle.

i had the same problem. sounded like a metal to metal grinding sound after about 2000 RPM. Brought it to the dealer and sure enough i need a new engine, just found out today that i need the new engine, still dont know what caused it or what broke. Whole problem was covered under warranty tho.

It might be knock which may have been caused by poor gasoline. Let us know if the problem persists after refilling with higher quality gasoline.

Why not pop the hood and have some one hold the car at 2100 while looking for the culprit?
