im adding:
the early Gen 7's did not come with HIDs (stupid toyota company)
the noise coming from the passenger side when playing the radio loud.

but i still love my celica.

I hate how it's a little hard to see out of the Celica, like backing up and whatnot. I used to drive a sedan and it was a lot easier to look around.

Also the usual complaints (torque, lift bolts, etc)

"Lift" is like "VTEC", eh? tongue. (basically different cam profiles that make your cams run more aggressively at higher rpms?)

Sorry, I'm a big Honda-head.

yes, lift is a lot like VTEC, except it doesn't kick in as early. when we hit 6400 RPMs a rocker pin activates the more agressive cam to alter the lift of the valves, which as you guessed is pretty much the same as VTEC, except i think VTEC normally has another valve kick in too doesn't it? i think a 4 cylinder VTEC has 20 valves if i'm not mistaken.

anways, i hate my damn headlight fogging up, but i think that i finally got that taken care of with a little elbow grease and some silcone thumbsup

Hehe, the plus side to VTEC is that it's fully adjustible with Hondata (and it makes a orgasmic sound wink).

Then there's i-VTEC in the new K-series motors, which are cam profiles that constantly change.

our vvtli is more comperable to the I-vtec then the standard vtec like you were thinking thumbsup

and yes "lift" makes a drastic change in sound of the engine smile

and?

with proper tuning we've eliminated the need for "lift" to kick on earlier. thumbsup

I second that...damn cheap interior.

I found the issue to the funny noises under the hood. Sometimes, the drive belt makes irritating screeching noises. you can go get it fixed under warranty. I have no idea waht causes it to do so however.

i like my s2k anteene...

i think we could have had bigger wheels on gt's's giving the gt's bigger wheels in the first place... and disks all around would be great! also if they would have painted the side skirts to match the car instead of putting the same grey ones on every single car!!!

and if the rear seats where put a little further back... i dont need such a huge ass trunk... but i do want more space for my peeps... and i think electic seats would be cool... or heated (kind not good with all the movements the seat has to preform though) and a more dependable rear washer fluid sprayer... mine just dripps down the rear glass... anyone else? should i just clean it out??

Overall the plusses, great looks, and handeling, adequate power, and Toyota quality and reliablity, more than make up for the gripes...

wood dash...emm maybe you shouldnt even comment on "looks" this is a sports car.. not a luxury car... confused

aside from that.. the only thing i could say is that they should have spent a little more time making the engine more mod friendly. i know a lot of people dont want a Turbo and supercharger and all that and they cant mess with the suspension too much because they have to accomodate the masses... but it just seems so dam hard to get real power out of the celica... i wish the mods we have availiable would give a lot more power per dollar. and maybe bigger wheels would also look nice...a stock raised hood scoop doesnt seem like a big deal but a lot of people would have benefited from that small mod

With those really bad blind spots, I got a nice Broadway mirrors to replace the stock mirrors and I can see almost at every angle. Highly recommended for all Celica drivers.

O yeah, with the GTS and its weak low end power, if one was to attach an AEM Intake, wouldn't that help a bit? Just wondering.

not enough low end power, blind spots, and the problems with the windows, unfortunately i have had to go to the dealer on numerous times to get the windows repaired. The toyota guys told me that the celica has a weak window system compared to all the other models. i dont know what the hell he has to base that from
