I just installed it yesterday and apparently they dont make a plug for it so we had to hardwire it, bypass the factory amp, and blah blah blah. For the power we hooked it striaght up to the battery. Now when I turn off the car the stereo stays on. Im pretty sure that the problem is the fact that its hooked up to the battery directly. So now the issue is this, where is the best place to hook up the power so it turns off when I turn off the car?

they definately make a harness
the problem is that your red power wire off the alipine deck needs to be a switched 12v sourse (ignition) the yellow is memory and constant 12v

For a temporary fix, throw a switch in your power wire so you can turn it off...

I can turn it off, I just hold down the source button for three seconds. But its a pain in the ass to do it everytime. I'd like it just to go off with the rest of the car. any one know how to fix this?

Caps are main color followed by stripe. HEAD UNIT GRAY w/silver dots 12V ACC BLUE w/yellow stripe 12V Constant WHITE w/green dimmer WHITE sig left front YELLOW sig left rear RED sig right front BLUE sig right rear GRAY/shrink sig shield (all) (You could use the factory amp if your head unit is underpowered and has pre-amp outputs. I didn't try this.)
