Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior day time running lights failure-help!

Hi, I plugged in one of those 12v things into my cigarette lighter that gives power to an air pumper to inflate tires. I noticed something smoking so I turned the car off. THe smoke was coming from the glove box. I unplugged it and pulled the panel off to inspect the back of my cigarette lighter to see what had burned. Nothing! No fuses were blown, everything was okay. Started the car and the running lights were off. Everything else works. Any one have an idea to what happened?

Well, my lights came back on-no more smoke-don't know what happened, but hopefully my car doesn't burn down tonight

lucky you pull the key out sooner..i'm thinking if you had left it in the cig plug longer you will most def. fry the wires..i had that b4 on my old car..but happen to the memory wires, it melted so bad only the wires are left showin..
