I failed today because I had my battery d/c yesterday when installing my AEM CAI and apparently that reset the ECU and it's "not ready". Also because I have those blue silverstar turn signal light bulbs. The ones that look blue, but when lit they are amber! On the package it says that they are 100% legal in all 50 states, and yet I failed. There were about 6 people who worked there disputing if it was legit or not. Half of them thought it was okay, and the other half siad it wasnt. So they took a white piece of paper and shinned the light on that, and it was amber. But then the head guy looked into the light, got all close and everything, and siad "uh oh, its green... fail him." F*CK that. I had it out with them big time. Even though I still would have failed even if the lights were alright. Its just the fact that they had the gall to say that it wasn't ... GRRR I hate Jersey.

ha ha sounds like india or any country except the US... or some really small urual towns in some states... Corrpuption at its finest
when you have ur ecu reset, you cant inspect it. you should drive it for 2 days minimum til they can inspect it. as for ur lights, i dont know if there illegal or not, but there is a certain number you can call to ask for ur local laws if its legal or not.
yea the perks of working at a shop is that i get free inspections and i do them myself so i pass everytime. and if your in new hampshire and need an inspection pm me and you'll pass.
heheh funny where I live all I have to do is give the guy $15 and there's my sticker he didn't even look at the car..probably don't even know what color my car was
Ok I have to ask. What's up with all these inspections? How often do you guys have to get your car inspected? The only time in canada you have to get it inspected, is if it's from out of province and you want to insure it in the new province, or if it's over 10 years old & changing hands. Do you have to get inspected every year in the USA? Crazy.
a couple weeks ago, i saw a silver TRD celica at the Alexandria Middle School parking lot at dusk... i think i was still driving my celica then and passed by and wanted to drive in to check it out, but i didn't...i think i had my celica... was that you????
Iv never heard of this?? I live in Alabama, we dont have any kind of inspections, i didn't even know such things exsisted. And its not a little county town or anything, I live in Huntsville, a fairly large city.

yeah dude jersey sucks...i put back my stock pedals and h7's and signals...just to make sure...i was even paranoid because at the time my rear windshield wiper wasnt working...but yeah i passed...and another thing that pisses me off..those lazy bastards cant even scratch off the adhesive properly, and to top it all off they put the fuckn sticker all crooked!! i swear they hire the most miserable people in new jersey...FUCK MCGREEVEY!!!
if the inspection looks for anything that isn't working or might not work in future...then why do not pass you for having an afterarket Intake on there
i dont get it...mostly they look for safety and emmisions...so why is the Intake a bad factor

The Intake isnt the bad factor, but the fact that I disconneted my battery to install it on sunday... is. I didnt know this, but disconnecting the battery resets the ECU and I failed because the results came back as "Not Ready" And apparently it falls under two sections, so I failed two things. Then the turn signals were the 3rd thing.
My friend got a ticket for an "aftermarket header" on his Supra. He fought with 2 cops for 30 minutes, yet they still wrote him a ticket. The header was 100% stock.
no inspections in iowa!! hell in drivers ed we had a cop come in to talk to us and he said that he pulled someone over one time that didnt have a steering wheel, all he had was a pair of vise grips on the steering column so he could steer.

inspection is different by each state. some will require to have full inspection that charge up to $70. some states only reqiure emission and charge $14 and good for 2 years. it's weird down here...
the tinting laws in panama city suck my friend got pulled over twice in one night and both times got a $70 ticket
Uhm did the laws change that day???? If not, the law doesn't suck your friend was just stupid for putting tint on the was illegal and thinking that he will not get pulled over for it

yeah, vise grips for steering definitely warrants a ticket in my eyes...
