Friday afternoon I was driving and guess what I threw a rod. Well as of right now the car will still run its sitting up at Tejas Toyota and they told me it was a rod. Well my question is how much would it be to replace the short block? Cause thats what the dealer said it would be(worst case scenario). Any help would be great or a place to buy a good used engine would help alot. Thanks for everybodys help.

worst case scenario, you bore out the cylender and replace with new pistons/rods... and it still costs less than a new shorty.

www.atk-engines.com...new [atk-engines.com...new] engine = 2699...assembled with the head already on it...just rip the old one out and put the new one in

i would probably bore and get bigger pistons and strong rods, you'ld get more power and come out cheaper

I have 11:1 internals and crower rods...etc. in my 03 GT, and its much stronger...you have juice, so youwould probably be good with forged 9:1 internals...check out MWR or the WIseco site for the info

My Friend did it to a '93 hatch civic with a b18, that thing has been running good for 2 yrs and still hasn't blown up

b18's dont have high compression ratio's stock...

high compression = all motor
low compression = forced induction
