Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior AEM Pulley / Belt Tensioner ?

Hello,

I recently bought the AEM pulley kit (alternator only) because of my squeaky belt problem. As I search through the postings, someone mentioned that the sqeaky belt is cause by the belt tensioner and not the belt.

Where can I find more information about the belt tensioner?
And would replacing the belt fix my problem?? or do I need a new tensioner when I replace belt??

go to your local mobil garage service center. they know what to do.

It could be the belt, or it could be the tensioner. Replace the belt to see if that's it, if it isn't, then you should get a new tensioner.

if the car is still under warranty, just take it to the dealer and they will fix it free (tsb)
