Has anyone every though of custom making illuminated door sills like some Lexus' models? That'll be extremely cool! Open up your door and have your door sills light up blue or something I'd buy it!

like this i guess? that would be nifty if some aftermarket thing went on and made it for the celi.. So I presume its illuminated with LED's... unique way to personalize your Mercedes. The name "Mercedes-Benz" illuminates in blue in the stainless steel door sill each time you open the door.http://www.mbusa.com/byo/pop_accessories.jsp?code=a5061&model=SLK230

it's really not hard, it's just finding a way to make it come on when your door opens... you could probably splice it off the dome light and have it on door so when your door opens so does your dome light and your sills

LoL Satoshi, you never cease to amaze me. I think what I'd do to make the cover, I'd just take the OEM sills, and take a Dremel tool to the lettering, Carve taht shit out, then take a piece of Pliable Plastic to cover up the holes from the inside, so like dirt and water and shit don't get onto the indiglo thingy. then just put the indiglo thingy under the sill and then connect it to the dome light by means of the A pillar

route the wires under the carpet, up to the fuse box in the center console, tap into the fuse with an add-a-fuse kit, make sure it goes to the interior lights, or the headlights (so, they come on when the lights do)
Or wire it up on it's own circuit and add a microswitch somewhere to turn it on when the door is opened. Or possibly wire it into the factory door open switch; it's already part of the circuit
