Ok this question has been bugging me lately. As some of yall know, im getting a Tanabe Super Racing Medalion exhaust system put on my car next week . Alot of my friends are telling me i should have gone with Greddy WTF? I thought TSRM had like the best gains besides TRD and has a nice low loud pitch. So what do you guys think, do you agree with my friends and think i should have gone with Greddy or should i stay with TSRM? And i have one more question...In case my muffler touches the action package, what should i place between the actual exhaust and the bumper to prevent melting? Please post any comments about both exhaust, and why you suggest either Greddy or TSRM. Thanks alot! i appreciate it
I had mine for a whole yr...I always touched the canister after i got back from a long drive (it used to rub against my bumper 'cuz I was too lazy to bend the hanger) and it would feel warm, but I could usually leave my hand on it for 3-4 second...so no damage to the bumper either.
TSRM has real big canistor, there for it might touch the action package. Greddy and TSRM is totally different exhaust. Greddy sounds just like TRD, which is deep and soft. However TSRM has ver very deep tone which stays like that throughout the rpm. So it much louder than any other exhaust. That's why i went with my Apex'i N1 its sound between trd and tsrm. I use to have TRD and it was too soft for me.
wait what billy? what exhaust should he have gotten?? i didnt catch it the 4 other times.
anyways... i dont like the TSRM( I have it) unless you have a kit... its looks weird without one
Yes i have the TRD body kit(its in my profile and avatar)..And also, i think that the TSRM is legal even without the silencer on. The TUM however, may not be^^
you can get em at a pretty good price from Hopupracing.com They are good to deal with too! TSRM is totally the way to go, the shit fits perfect and looks great! Polished all the way back, I fucking love it!
just 2 question after reading, ain't TUM legal without the silencer? does TUM fit perfectly like the TSRM does? I like the TUM look more than the TSRM look but still deciding due to the price difference
According to Tanabe, the Ultra Medalion is not street legal w/o the silencer, but the TUM is way quieter than the TSRM, so there's no way a cop is gonna pull you over 'cuz it's not that loud.
The TUM fits a lot better than the TSRM 'cuz it has an adjustable band clamp...so you can set the canister at any ride height & at any angle.

TUM is definetely worth the extra $200.
so your saying the the TUM is way quieter with silencer or without the silencer? just worry that the silencer will take that sweet sound away because if i were to get TUM instead of the TSRM, i wouldn't put the silencer on it. would that cause the cops behind my tail?

He's saying that even though the TUM is NOT street legal w/o a silencer, its quieter than the TSRM and the TSRM is always legal, so no cop would pull you over. Ha, fat chance.
TUM is deeper, which I don't know qualifies for louder er
Personally, i'd like to be able to fist fuck my exhuast. Sorry for being blunt.
