Hondata, Type R cams, Type R anything, DC sports. They have many more options. The celica has products in production. We do have turbos coming out. Cams are in their research and Development stage and should be coming out soon. We can get pistons and rods. They have a stroker kit for the GTS. It just seems that since there are not as many celica owners as rsc/honda owners, not many aftermarket parts are being bought which results in not many aftermarket parts being made.

Yah aftermarket is coming for the celica thats not the big deal in my eyes. What I want to know is why Toyota has the celica priced higher then a RSX when the rsx has similiar handling, power, speed but comes with more features or options rather standard. Toyota needs to lower the price and be more competitive.

I think the GTS engine is harder to work with than the RSX engine. Honda has always aftermarket support for the integra and civic...so they put the same thing into the acura RSX.

so only the type S is vtec? Whats the difference between i-vtec and regular vtec. I raced an si i-vtec and it didn't really seem like anything. I'm just curious because I do not know too much about the honda/acuras.

I'm just curious because I do not know too much about the honda/acuras. The RSX and and the RSX Type-S both have the same engine with the i-vtec. The difference is just that the S has 200 hp and more options. "The RSX is propelled by an exhilaratingly responsive 16-valve, 2.0-liter, DOHC LEV-II engine with a lightweight aluminum block and head. The engines for both the RSX and RSX Type-S employ i-VTEC-, a more sophisticated version of the unparalleled Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system that extracts ample low-rpm torque and high-rpm power from the same engine. In the RSX, i-VTEC helps the engine put out 160 horsepower, while in the RSX Type-S, a more complex version of i-VTEC helps the engine reach 200 horsepower, a staggering 100 horsepower per liter. As you'd expect, i-VTEC helps the RSX and RSX Type-S respond quickly while it improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust emissions."

I'm just curious because I do not know too much about the honda/acuras. if im not mistaken, the RSX base model and the RSX-S has the i-Vtec..i-Vtec is somewhat similar to VVTL-i..there was an article before, comparing VVTL-i and Vtec/i-Vtec, i think it was on one of the issues of Turbo mag

i-VTEC is basically honda's version of VVTL-i (or vise versa) the "i" in both cases stands for "intelligence" if i'm not mistaken.

it does mean "intelligence" yea...it's just a quicker more efficient version of the VTEC.

I think the RSX is ugly...
Plus, the inside is more like an economy car than a cockpit in the Celica.
When I'm in my GTS, it feels like I'm wearing it...not sitting in it.

i'm not as biased. too many problems with a "certified" used celi has left a bad taste. i enjoy a lot of aspects of the rsx including it's potential (my girl has the rsx and although my celi feels sportier the acura is very similar). even if my celi were closer to 100% the fact that there are many other vehicles in the same price range with better performance and even more room for modification has me somewhat jaded. the z350 looks beautiful and i can't wait to see how the rx-8 does.
