the scion craze sounds to only be big with 16-year-olds (and first time car owners)... I remember getting my first car too - it was great! I didn't really care what it looked like, but it was a car and it was all mine
It's not just your imagination... Your day really does go by twice as fast while on EverythingCelica.com
I've seen three in person and I don't think they are that great. I think Toyota is making a bad decision, by replacing the Celica with this. You go from having a light car that has pretty nice stock power to something heavy with the same amount of power. I know there is the supercharged addition (or atleast that is what I have heard), but it's still just not a great looking car. I still think it looks like a Celica that needs Slim Fast because it had one too many cookies.
And, yes that picture does look like a chop.
My car is gunna be 10x faster than yours...haha... I'm gunna buy like 10 of those speedchips! I figure if 1 gets me 20hp then 10 will get me 200hp!

They are doing a bad job then... I'm 16 and I hate all the Scions, and so do all my friends. Every Scion I've seen has an older couple in it...

haha, my mom is planning to get a Scion TC for my little sister when she graduates high school... i think it doesn't look that bad, compared to the XA and XB, stock for stock.
hehe an XB tried to race me the other day i laughed and turned up my stereo a little. Then he turned his up all the way and looked at me. I turned mine up again to about half way and let the JL W6 and XR's do their job. He must of felt like a giant D-bag.
in that article it says : Send us more cars, says scion dealers in california to the japanis partners. toyotas spessial brand for the younger seems to have hit the rigth comsumers
It has been growing on me, I don't know why some of you guys hate Tc so much. Yeah Xa and Xb are And true, Tc doesn't look like a Murcielago either, and it's not comparison to the Celica. Still though, it's much cheaper, still a Toyota, and will have a good aftermarket. Especially since Celica is being discontinued. It's not a sports car, just a nice daily driver
I've seen two so far in the past few days (one black, one silver) and it looks awesome! I think it does have potential! And, for those of you who simply dislike the tC because you THINK it is replacing the Celica, than you're wrong...because it is NOT replacing the Celica!
I'm sorry to everyone who likes them. They are pretty fugly.
have you seen one in person ??
I've seen many. Actually sat in one at the dealership here. It's a comfortable interior... but it's NOT sporty.
Yea I like 'em...But wouldn't get one because it's not sporty at all...In fact, I've driven the 5spd version, and it just doesn't have that sports car "feel."
At first i liked it, since it was new style car. But every time i look at it, it looks more like RSX from side view, tiburon from the rear, and volvo s40 front end. And the car is way to too small inside and outside. I like the features and stuff. but its nothing really special. And more i look at it the uglyer it gets Although the price is great for what it is. that's just me

looks nothing like rsx from side, It looks like a Bmw from the side or a G35, the rear looks more like an Audi A4, and it has Bmw front
i think the tC is a great looking car, it looks good and it has great potential. and im not mad about the tC supposedly replacing the celica, im sure toyota will bring out a super car soon, i mean, they dont have one right now, especially since the celica and mr2 are gone

the side window shaped just like rsx.(i mean exactly) the rear tail-light looks just like tiburon tail-lights front looks a lot like new volvo s40 with sharp head light
that's just my opinion, im sure everybody has their different thoughts
the car looks aight. im sure itll look nice with rims and a kit (like the first pic of this thread). remember its a 2.4L engine, with more torque then we got. true, its a camry engine, but it got a lot of potential. with a few mods, the car will be faster than a celica. the hood is bigger than a celica so they can fit a lot of things there. the only thing celica has advantage over tc after mods is that celica was made to look aggressive sporty and be exotic comparing to the tc (good handling, sits low on the ground, small in shape, lightweight car, good braking). celica and tc is like comparing celica and a mustang. could have more power, but will have understeer problems.

It isn't that cheap. I built one on Scion.com and added just some of the features I'd want and it was almost $20,000! I'd rather get a Celica for that kind of money.

1). Looks round, bulbous, and plain. 2). Is not cheaper than Celica. Thats just marketing B.S. 3). Not fast, doesn't handle well according to a review I read in a car mag. 4). ALL Scions are cheaply made, and IMO ugly.
If you like it tho, I apologize. I just wouldn't want one. No Scions have been sold at my local dealers. Same cars have sat there for months.
another thing i just read in the import tuner with tera patrick on the cover with the apr mr2, the trd supercharger (unlike all the other superchargers) is a snail, a vortech snail. 200hp at only 6psi

the celica is definately a sportier platform for enigne mods and sleek looking bodies, but the scion line is a good (read: good, not better) platform for interior mods and neons and "rice" stuff. the big box lookin' one could fit a large plasma tv in the rear, maybe. the tC doesn't do it for me as much as the celica, but for the price it looks pretty good, at least for a first car, at least cooler looking than my first (and current) car: my sister's '02 VW Cabrio.
One thing about all the Scions, the quality/reliability is still a big question mark. Yeah, that could be another factor in whether or not the sales hold up.
quality/reliability shouldn't be an issue, it's toyota. sales i believe it will drop after 2 yrs, just like the celica. i can remember back in 2000 eveybody had a silver GT auto. once it gets too common, sales will drop. toyota will soon realize what a mistake it is to gamble on one little TC as a sports coupe... and no, solara is for MILF...
