Hello,

My car is making this squeaking noise. It sounds like something rotating. I put the car on N today and I revved the engine, the harder I press the engine, the louder the squaking gets. Anyone know what this is? Is this the timing belt or is this something worst?

I do have an extended warranty but I want to know what I am dealing with before I take it in. That way, I get less of a chance of getting bullsh*tted on.

Thanks

Probably belt that connects alternator to the engine. You can get this spray that stops the squeeking noize.

Take it to the shop!...don't take anymore risks, on it getting any worse!
the rotors on my car got warped and i took to the shop asap, when i got there they said any more delays in getting it fixed would have casused the rotors to warp further and i would have to buy two new one's expensive too!... wave

That's just a temporary fix, the real deal is to tighten the belt tensioner!... thumbsup

I rather not spray anything onto it. I want to see if I can use my extended warranty since it does say that it covers the timing belt and etc.

I just want to know exactly what I am dealing with before I go in there.

Last time, I took the ZX3 into the dealership, they were going to charge me flat rate. But I decided to go back home and research a bit on the problem. I found out what it was, got a read out on the CEL and went back talking as if I know exactly what and how to fix the problem. They replaced and fixed my car for FREE even tho it was out of warranty and even gave me a free check up. Sweet deal since I was able to sell my car 1 hour after I left the dealership...

Also, is the car okay to drive? I will take it in on Thursday but will be using the car until then. I need to go work and etc.

Serious? They are not going to replace it? If I have the warranty right, and I bring it there with a gatorback which I will purchase, will they install it for free?

It's okay to use... Everything will probably be working fine...
You can also check the tension of the belt.. Push them down... If it's pretty tensioned (reasonable amount) it should be okay.

You wont have problem driving... dont worry.. you 'will' get annoyed tho.. that's for sure.

Take it to toyota... it's your baby. But people like me who cant take the car in... I just do it by my self...lol

Sounds good guys. And also that gatorback will also fix this problem?

How much are those gatorbacks and where can I purchase one? If Toyota is going to charge me, I rather purhcase the gatorback and have my uncle replace it. The guy is a MB mechanic so hopefully he knows how to do this.
