Your going to need an adhesive remover and a small razor blade. It'll take you a while, but it should all come off after the remover. Hey, I don't have a moonroof!

Haha, you're like 1 of 2 Celica's in the US without one.
I wouldn't try acetone on the moonroof unless you want it too look like a foggy mess. Lexan doesn't react well with acetone. Not too sure about goo-gone though.
my car is 01 and same thing happened to me about year ago. so i took it to the dealer, and they put a new 03 moonroof which had celica logo on. it looks nice. https://celicahobby.com/gal3/20040320/DCP_0033

Yeah it sucks and it should've been glass to begin with. The weight savings between the two wouldn't be significant, Toyota. People here are going to hate what I'm about to write. I never had a problem with my plastic roof. I've driven in all sorts of extremes. I only started to have a problem recently ( if this post is around another day I will take a pic). My problem is nothing like the previous pic. either. My problem is those plastic moonroofs need special attention and cleaning care. I only had problems recently because I got stupid and tried to clean it like a piece of glass. My moonroof was spotless until this then a strip peeled only on the drivers side. It was completely my fault for being careless and lazy. Bird droppings, tree sap, etc. needs to be cleaned off imediatedly or quickly (a day or so) in a proper fashion with no windex or harse chemicals, and with a very soft cloth in a pattern that doesn't involve circles. That's the jist of cleaning it. It's not a piece of glass. How do I know about this? I read the manual when I first purchased my car.

this is why i like the 5th gen, they have the whole motorized sunroof. Those never fade, but i guess the motor will die sumtime tho. hmm anyways, PIMP no idea what to do wit the tint.

yeah how much did you pay for it man?
like i said, i took it to the dealer. they took care of it with the warranty. So free for me i guess
The warranty paid for it? I guess you're lucky and have a great dealership. I don't knwe for sure on the cost for replacement. I will ask for around my area. I'm guessing $500.
It's a little more than 500, from a dealership at least. Mine wanted almost 700, and that was only for the glass insert. The dealership looked at my moonroof and asked me if I had rolled my car. Had to laugh at that.

i just went to the dealership and they said it isnt covered by warranty, and it would be$700 for glass insert. so i called the local glasswork and tint place and they said they cant tint lexan because it wont stick (obviously). i'm not sure what else to do except trade sunroofs w/ someone w/ an '03 and have them take their car to the dealership to complain and have it replaced. then i'd only have to pay their deductible for them...lol.

what are you talkin about, 7th generation celicas have motorized moonroofs too except some arent glass, instead plastic, your statement makes no sense, clarify.. and yeah our motors die sometime too..
There has to be a better way. I am trying goo gone and a razor blade. It is gonna take forever, might be done before school starts, and it seems to be scratching the roof a little. Will thoes still be visable if I retint it? Or better yet is their a way to do this that dosn't scratch the plastic?

If dual exhaust is good then tri must be even better...
