Ok so 2 nights ago i was coming out of Hooters with my friends in a Cooper S, 04' GLI, and me in my Celi GT. We decide to go for a little football on the freeway since its like 1 in the morning and at that time McAllen is dead. Anyways me and the GLI are going side by side hitting 80mph with the Cooper just taging along in back of me and we hit the on-ramp while in the process of looking back making shure no car is coming the GLI pulls ahead and guns it, when i see that i gun it too and pass a group of cars, about 3 cars i hit 100 and the GLI is still pulling away and i look back to see where the Cooper is at and i see the worst thing, the Cooper slamming on his brakes and a cop car next to him hauling ass towards me . State Trooper in a Camaro pulls all 3 cars over and gives us all citations, mine was for going 80 in a 60 which im lucky because i was doing 100 when i passed the cop up. My question is my parents dont know yet and i dont really want them to know, so if i pay for the ticket and take the defensive driving course for the insurance would they have to find out at all, by the way im 18 and from wat ive heard is that your parents dont need to know???

go to court , and talk with the public defender they will probley take of 2 points.. which that is 4 point ticket here in Nj.. Then what you do is take a Online defensive driving course to get ride of those points you just got.

yeah, but still if you have to pay it off, do so. I had 4 unpaid tickets and was thrown on probation. Speeding sucks up money, so i don't speed no more.

I dont think your parents would find out unless they pay your insurance.

You should be fine. Pay the ticket, take driving school. Hopefully they don't see any mail coming from the police dept about all this. My parents still don't know I've had more parking tickets than fingers and toes.

i'd bet you could pull it off, but if you care what your parents think, tell them cause its gonna be worse if they find out the hard way.

Parents need to understand tickets happen.
I don't get it when my friends parents get so upset over their first ticket. EVERYONE speeds. Better your kid gets caught and has a chance to learn now. If your kid was doing 10 miles over and got caught, cut them some slack.
Street racing or "major" tickets are another story...
