Recently I have noticed that with my SRI installed I get and weird fluctuation in RPMs when my Radiator fans cut on...then the RPMs stabilize...and when the fans turn off the RPMs are eratic then re-stabilize...side note the stock air box does this as well just not as bad...
Either way, this is the 1st time this has ever happened kinda weird since I've had this thing on for extened periods then back to stock at other periods of time.
Anyway I was tinkering and stuck a piece of heavy cardborad to deflect and test the heat soak/forced air into the Intake...and the cardboard reduced the RPM flux. So now I want to know what the maximum dimensions of the filter element will fit inside the Injen Heat Shield...I know the flange will fit fine.
Here are the dimensions of my filter element:
Flange = 2.75 inches Filter base diameter = 6 inches Filter top diameter = 5 inches Filter length = 6.5 inches
unfortunately all I found was the heat shield specs for the flange fitment...Thanks for the help in advanced.

It's like 4am, 'n I just got home from work but I'll pop my hood tomorrow and get some numbers for you. Drop me a PM if you want. I just got my Injen heat shield a few weeks ago. What kind of filter/short ram Intake do you have? As it states in the ECelica store
"Fits most aftermarket air filters with 2.5, 2.75, and 3 inch outlet flange such as INJEN, AEM, AC, K&N...etc. Does not fit "mushroom" or "blow-off" type air filters, or air filters with integrated heat shields."
The INJEN filter is a decent size and it works well with the heatshield but it's kinda a tight fit (still does the job though)

^ sorry, to clarify, the heatshield isn't a tight fit over the filter, the whole friggin Intake/filter/heatshield is a tight fit in the engine but the hood still shuts...damnit, it's late i need sleep

I had to do a lot of "fiddlin'" to get itin right, but it does fit, albeit tightly. I know what you mean about fluctuatins, but haven't experienced them in a while now.
