coilovers are adjustable like booyalian said. if you drop ur car and then get a kit after and find that you're scraping, you can always raise it back up a little
coilovers are also much more comfortable...they provide a ride comfort as well as Performance edge that springs just can't compare with...even if the springs are matched with aftermarket shocks/struts...
depends on what you want out of it. if your only using the car for the street and will never take it to a track for autoX/circuit then just go for some springs because it's cheaper and more practical, but if you really want to make your car race ready then go for coilovers but you really don't need them, a great driver can out perform these things steven, CID498, and Tae machine prove this all the time.
damn..you learn something everyday. I was convinced springs were better because you always see in magazines and on the net COILOVERS $75 A SET!..shit like that. But definitly nice to know. Im happy with my eibachs though.
ECELICA - EDUCATING PEOPLE EVERYDAY ABOUT THE WONDER THAT IS THE 7th GENERATION CELICA
the $75 coilovers you're talking about are coilover kits, they have a spring and adjusting rings that go onto your stock struts/shocks. those are shit. the kind we're talking about are full coilovers that completely replace your old shocks/springs. made by hotchkis, tein, tanabe, JIC, TRD, etc
