Celica Forums General Discussion General 2k1 GTS, can it beat...

Hi guys
I've been reading a local forum here in jamaica and two guys got into this HUGE argument about which car is faster and blah blah blah. This guy that calls himself arrrrgh has a levin BZ-R in which he put a B18c with V-Tec engine stock and the next guy calls himself Killer-VVTL-I and he has a 2k1 celica GTS I think there both stock. Now I'm no racer (at least not yet) as I only have a little 4AGE with an automatic tranny at that, so what I want to iz if the GTS will beat the B18c or vice versa. The GTS dude iz pretty hyped up about his GTS and as I'm no fan of honda I wanna from the pros here that the GTS will kick the B18's ARSE!!!!

also I know that this iz a celica forum but please don't be biased just give it to me like it iz

levin BZ-R is toyota, how can you put a honda motor???

you gotta remember, honda engines own everyone elses because it's vtec!

What vehicle is the B18 in?

IF the vehicle was the same weight & all else was equal, no the B18 wouldn't take a GTS. Their 1.8L actually produces about 170HP to the flywheel & has very low torque. The 2ZZ would eat it. Besides that, the B18 is probably found in a much heavier car which would put a nail in the coffin.

hard to say, the 2001 Lotus elise had this engine, and it pushed 200 hp, now im assuming this guys is pushing about the same, so the guy with the other car will win, this engine was used in the pass Type R cars, its a 1.8 Liter with VTEC, its a good match, its going to be all about weight and whos is the best driver,but i think the Celica will lose

that guy should of went with a Turbo'ed H22A instead...

maybe im wrong but who knows, tell them to stop argueing and just go race and see who wins.

Haulin a doo the B18 was in a Integra which I think had a weight of 2750lbs ( not sure)and now he put it in a Levin BZ-R like this one http://www.alljapanesecars.com/viewcr.php3?mk=Toyota&md=Corolla%20Levin&yr=2000&mc=AE111

not sure of the weight of it though it's prolly loghter than the GTS though I think the GTS is 2500lbs again not sure

They will eventually race but they'll have to wait till september when a drag event takes place on an abandoned air strip out here i'll try and remember to post the outcome when they race

let them race for the final decision!!
