Does anyone know how to remove the door for the ashtry and the cig-lighter from the lower part of the center console? I'm thinking of re-painting that portion. Thanks

gently lift by the window controls, it will pop up, and then the rest will pop up also. 3 things to watch for.

#1. take off the shift knob (obviously)
#2. The piece has tabs tucked under the AC controls so don't pull them off.
#3. unplug the cig lighter.

Ashtray lid. Remove the coil spring from the back that makes the lid snap shut. Then insert a safety pin in the small holes left and right that cause the lid to swing out and in. After inserting the safety pin you should have two metal bars don't loose these if you decide to use the lid again. Now you should be able to remove the lid with ease.

Cig Lighter. Unplug cig. harness and any other connectors. Unscrew rear metal ring holding cig. lighter. Push down any clips holding cig. lighter. Push Cig. lighter out may need to twist, rotate, and slide while pushing out of the hole takes some effort if it's your first time. Once out then take out the black ring holder in the front. Done.
